Well today we go to sign the paperwork for my new place. Admittedly, its just a patch of ground, with a ratty mobile home on it, but if all goes well I'll be happy with it.
Its 5 acres. I will have it paid for in full in just 10 years. Not to shabby.
It already has a well and sewage. This week we will get electricity and a phone.
Sadly, I don't think that broadband will be an option out there, at least not immediately. I also refuse to go back to dial-up so until I can either afford satellite or DSL arrives, I will be in an indefinite hiatus from the internet.
All in all though, I will be happy because I will finally be getting my own place again.
So, sometime between now and June 1st (assuming no glitches) I will be departing.
I will try to post some pictures of the property. It will be kinda nice to have a WIP rendition of how the place progresses. Even if I don't have the net, I can get access through the library and through my work.
Wish me luck.

Yes, I am quite the bit on cloud nine today. We won't be actually moving till the second or third week of May. My only regrets circles around my internet woes.
Oh well. You guys got along before I arrived, you'll just have to grit your teeth and bare it till I can figure out a solution.
Hell, I am not even sure whats available out that way. I might be worrying for not.
The funny thing about my new residence is, its fat in the middle of an Indian reservation.
I've gone native.

Indian country hmmm... I wonder if you can send smoke signals over the net. May be that will work? Nah....probably not, that looks pretty secluded.
I would guess you might have a little problem getting service, depending how far from a town you are, the comm services out there are somewhat backwater from my experience depending on what part of the state.
Good luck with new place, looks like a nice piece of property. I always wanted one like that so I could run around naked and chase the old lady...LOL.
My grandkids might leave me alone for a little while too with that much room to raom around.

Small chance, but one worth wishing for. There is a chance that there is DSL out there. The phone company thinks so anyway.
I sure hope so.

I still don't understand why some places don't have broadband. It is a simply wire, that is all. It is not as though they need any maintenance or anything.

You guys do know I travel. If you are 18 or more years old, all you got to do is tell me when and where to meet up.
Also, if you have summer vacation time from school/college, you are welcome to ride with me on my runs.
You will get to see a vast portion of the states that way.
I have been to all but 3 states. Alaska, Hawaii and Maine.
You must be over 18 though. No exceptions.

OK guys.
I am leaving for Idaho in the morning. By the time I return, my internet will most likely be turned off. As I mentioned already, I am not even sure if, or when I will get another connection.
Its been a blast, and I look forward to more fun upon my return.
Be good guys.

LOL. Still workin on your English Reaper I see.
It doesn't seem like its been almost a year since I started buying this land. Most of the changes I made to it happened this winter. The blood sucking insect life is dormant during the cold weather months so I postponed much of the work till it got cold. I did fence in about 1.5 acres last summer, about a month after we moved in but the bugs ate us alive and I opted to wait for cold weather to continue.
Anywho's, I'll get some pics as soon as I can.
