Hmm bought Inme - White Butterfly and At The Drive-In - This Station Is Non-Operational.
WB is certainly better than their 1st album, 2 or 3 songs are proper
sing(shout?) along stuff. They playing at at festival in my town next
month so that shud be good.
This Station is interesting. ATDI are supposed to have this big cult
following, and though this anthology gives glimpses of brilliance, I
cant really see what they had that what was gonna make them "the next
big thing".
Hello there.

Bands like Mettalica, medadeath or bloody slipknot just make me want to
kill everything. I mean they could at least attempt to make a half
decent guitar
riff, or get that sore throat looked at. To make a good rock band you
have to be your work has to be your own. These kinds of people try to
follow guidlines so to speak and stick to set way of playing, theres
just no effort.

Vol3 was one of my fav albums of 2004 imo, a totally matured up sound
from their previous efforts, which were basically just straight up
pummelling of the ear drums (certainly no bad thing  ).

New Boxcar? I liked them alot more than I liked Blink 182
Huge I didn't take you for a bright eyes fan, we would have gotten along well I should think if we had met.
I've got some stuff from Boom Bip, Dose one, and Clouddead. Found
an old thing from some British radio thing called Peel Sesion, it is so
damn good.
Dose One just turns everything he touches to gold.

Marilyn Manson I cannot stand. Its not his music or what he looks like, its what hes all about- hes the biggest hypocrite ever!
As for Metallica, I like thier music alot, but I hate the people- very big headed and arrogant, but they steal music, so thats not cool.
Megadeth are legendary- his voice is what makes the band I find. Alot of the music has a very dark tone to it which his voice perfectly symbolises.
Music in general- I think alot of it is lazy. Music should be made with the lyrics and everything in mind. Think about Megadeth- Train of Consequences. If you don't have it, download it. The title is reflected in all the riffs- the guitars all sound like a steam engine, the drums are the chugging, its just well thought out, like music should be. Alot of bands just right music and stick lyrics on top.
Now Slipknot are prone to this to the extreme, but as much as you may not like it, the core band (the singer, guitarists and main drummer) are some of the most talented musicians in the world, just thier song writing sucks a bit!
Dimmu Borgir are just show offs. For anyone who doesn't know what they sound like- imagine everybody in the band playing as fast as they can. Done. The drummer is the fastest speed metal drummer in the world, capable of double bassing (hitting the 2 bass drums with his 2 feet alternately) over 800 times a minute (thats over 13 times a second). I respect thier skill, but yeesh, thier songs are evil and get a bit samey.
Finally, Mercyful fate- great band, they sorta pre existed Metallica etc, but are still around today. King Diamond may ring a bell (hes the singer). Although again, they are very evil- I turned the song "9" (a very twisted song about heaven and hell) backwards, which I assume your meant to do (the song constantly goes on about "being 9", which if you turn upside down makes a 6, and they say it 3 times...), and it turned out that it was a wierd devil worshipping song. Creepy eh?
Oooh, anyone has Led Zepplin - Stairway to Heaven, turn that backwards- he sings about how he loves satan

I don't believe Zepplin did it, but I do believe Mercyful Fate do it...
As for Manson, he is intelligent, but hes still a massive hypocrite. He constantly goes on about rising against the governments and not paying taxes... I don't see him not paying taxes, and he sure as hell isn't do much of a revolution- so far his army consists of a load of teenagers who like to slit thier wrists! I just think hes a loser tbh- hes made alot of money, and hes a good con artists, but grrrrrrrrrr.....

I read his autobiography, and it was very interesting. It goes
through his change from a good little boy to getting kicked out of his
Catholic school and then becoming Marilyn Manson. It's a good
read, very interesting.

Yer my gf has it, had a flick through it. Its amazing how normal he looks without makeup, but hes become such a wanker since going out with Dita Von Teese or whatever shes called. He even got rid of his guitarist so he could claim more fame by being the guitarist!

I bought the Fall Out Boy album From Under the Cork Tree a few minutes
ago on iTunes and even though I've only listened to the first 5 songs
or so... it seems really good for the genre its in.
I can't remember if ReNo recommended this album, but if not...check it out ReNo!
If you can only check out one track... check out Sugar, We're Going
Down. That's the song that made me want to buy the album.

I couldn't get Common - Go! out of my head so I bought his album "Be"
yesterday and it's really good. Kanye West said Common is the
Marvin Gaye of rap and I think that's an apt description.
It's really good feel good mellow rap. I'd recommend it to anyone
who likes rap or hip hop but is sick of all the gangster mafioso
diamonds and guns obsessed crap that gets put out these days.

Cool, Jimmy Eat World did a Heatmiser cover for their EP... they didn't get the title right, but they didn't f**k up the song as much as I expected them to so props... "Half Right," they call it.
