My all-time-favorites:

<Myrk> like Baywatch, Pam may go to hospital with a boob injury
or something, but we know she will always pull through fine

<gwil> i just kicked one of the stairs really hard and strubbed my toe to f*ck

<Monqui> thought I needed help, but I don't, because I'm a goddamn genius

<Mephs> slander would be like public speaking wouldnt it?

<Monqui> public speaking/news cast

<Monqui> and it's only slander if the statements are false

<Monqui> so, if you rape sheep for fun, and I call you a sheep
rapist, then it's not slander, although it does do damage to you

<Monqui> BUT if you didn't rape sheep, then it would be slander
 • gwil humps Campaignjunkies leg
<Campaignjunkie> Ahh that's better

<Monqui> ...

Aahhh ... quality times.
I remember those times...

We should all get organized and join the channel at the same time every now and then.

Perhaps a weekly "Snarkpit meeting" would be nice. We should set up a poll and vote for a standard time that's convenient for most members.

One problem I could think of is that it'd get pretty crowded... are multiple threads possible within a channel?

I was going to do just that, except I am back at work now (instead of on vacation) and the flu season just started. I'll try to do it during my lunch break.

The Quakenet channel has been alive for so long, there is really no idea with changing servers.

I am using this to plan the time zone poll.

Is there a graph of the "users online" at the snarkpit? That's probably the best indicator when people are mostly around.

It went pretty well. You were there for the beginning too.

There weren't as many people as I expected. Only a handful of
people participating in the public group chat. CJ dropped by, so
did Cap P. Monqui and Andrei were there from the beginning to the
end. I dropped out half way to download Cap P's map.

We'll see whether next week will be better.

I was out last night so couldn't make it, but I'll try again next week.
For some people saturday night might be a bad time as its a typical
"social time". Midweek might be better, but it would have to be fairly
late GMT to make sure the US folks were outta work, and that in turn
could make it too late for our eastern friends if they have work/school
the next day

I am a bit hazy on this once per week thing. There are 24 hours in each day and assuming that many of those have land under them, someone will always be awake.

Why not daily, twice. One 12 hours apart from the other. This will help everyone since most of us are only 6 or 7 hours from each other and invariably many, if not all of us will be awake for one of them.

This is not to say that everyone should join every event, but it would definitely accommodate more members schedules.

Also, Saturday seems bad cause its the most socially active day for the age brackets that dominate this site.

Thats just my take on this.
There is no history until something happens, then there is.
