We're not following the linking plan that was set before anymore. (I dont think). Just link you sections where they best fit.
CrackerJack, just make something and then when your ready, tell us and we'll send ya the map.

WC personally i think it would be easier to send me the sections completed then base it off of that.. cause i have a layout that does not fit at all with the current layout.. i will be mad that i made something for nothing

Why bother saving a whole map/section as a .ol file, when you could just leave it saved as an RMF or MAP?

lol  I think Orph means to save separate parts (i.e arches, pillar, doorways etc) as .ol files so they are easier to import through the prefab system instead of searching for and loading a separate rmf.
Though I have to say I prefer the separate rmf method myself

As far as I know, the FGD is only used by the editor to specify the entities which can be placed, and what properties can be specified.
what happens when a an rmf is passed between people with differing FGDs if the prior mapper used a property which is unavailble in the next guy's FGD? I've no idea.

Test it. Make an entity, set a property, open the FGD and delete that property, then try to open and compile the map.

I love the fact he used the same textures I did, will hook up well to my piece. The big metal door he has could be connected to my big metal door.
Or the fire Door he has could be connected to my fire door.. pretty cool.. And its structure fits mine and Spinner Ds very well.

The sections layout is based off Sinners section connected to Money's and then mine. Also guys please hurry and get sections done so i can go through and make sure its all neat.. If you dont mid i would like to be the one to but everything together...
Cassius im not sure what you mean by second class.. but if it means that some of the people workin on the sections arent top notch then please contribute to the map with your skills and we will see where you stand.. Please do not take this comment offensively it is in no way a flame

i like cass, so i may just see things differently, i never see his comment in a poor light, even if he intends them to be..
i read it as "PitCrew the second time"
or
"PitCrew 2"
or something along those lines.
ask yourself, almost nothing is posted to inform anyone how well the map is progressing, how can anyone comment on it being 2nd class work?
also, i may see it differently cause, my contribution to the pitcrew map of ours is the poorest addition, and always felt my area brought the whole map down a notch.
in a nutshell, do not assume he meant second class members.

'Twas a pleasure to disrespect you, gentlemen, and even moreso to see how fragile your feelings on the subject really are.
The original Pitcrew map was made by the best of the best, not only of the Snarkpit community, but in my eyes the best in all the HL community. It is rather unfair to assume that someone could make a work that stood up to that, and indeed, I don't know anybody who could.
However, you can't deny that the project, thus far, seems very disorganized... hell, the sections are being tested seperately, with different textures, with different mods, FFS. For example, the kind doctor's section is quite well done, really, except everyone else is using the halflife.wad, and he's been showing it as an NS map up until now.
(On an unrelated note, now that I think about it, I kind of snapped and responded when I kept on looking at Doc's screens - they're nice and all, textures are quite admirable for one who's just started, but for God's sake man, seeing that texture meant for the short side of a cargo crate used on every wall just pushed my fragile mind over the edge.)
There's not really much more for me to talk about, because A, so little has been scraped up so far from anyone but Brasso, and B, I couldn't possibly rate what's been done so far on my scale without saying mean things to hurt your feelings, which in this situation, would produce nothing.
Love and peace,
your friendly neighborhood Cassius
P.S. Doc, why apologize?
