Well aren't you just a god damn scrooge

Don't mean to put a dampner on things, but the "fixed" top bar is
actually more "broken" now in Firefox  Great to see those festive
snarks back though - until now I just wasn't in the Christmas spirit!

Well firefox is crap, officially- theres nothing good in it. What is thats messed up- using Leps firefox its just the snarks legs missing. It was fixed for larger screen resolutions though- the red lines and image didn't extend to fit bigger screens.

How odd, it now looks perfect in Firefox (ignoring the legs missing as you said)! Very strange, in a pleasant way  And as much as I don't want to get into an argument with you over Firefox, I'd just like to say, YOUR WRONG, YOU'RE ALWAYS WRONG, AND YOU'LL ALWAYS BE WRONG. Yeah, so, err....Merry Christmas, one and all!

They're alternatives since ALL of these religious holidays are in the same season and all religious denominations are present here, at the pit. Even more so since we have several members from Asia and Africa.

Eid is not Ramadan, just to note. One of its celebrations is the day after the last day of Ramadan, in which you sacrifice a lamb (to eat).

Nickle, I know you're joking, but it's not funny. Seriously offensive now. (Yes, to me)

There is no need to omit Christmas, it's just annoying that it's shoved down everyone's throat. People would start celebrating the thing in July if they could (and some do). But you should recognize that your beliefs aren't the only ones. Why is that overlooked? Religious freedom, wow, there's a thought.

My family celebrates both Eid and Christmas, neither get's the boot.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

My only problem with any holiday is its current level of commercialism. I get so tired of the exhibits going up in the stores months in advance. We know the holiday is coming but why push it so hard?

I want to see Halloween during October, not June and I damned sure don't want to see Christmas while its still 80 or 90 degrees outside.

I have zero religious views but still enjoy the holidays. I told my spouse today in fact that I like buying gifts far more than getting them. Giving something to some little one who really needs it is a gift all in itself.

I'm not religious at all but I enjoy and celebrate Christmas all the
same. What I don't like is my town not allowing a banner that
says "Merry Christmas". I mean, I don't care what your views are
and what you celebrate, but there's no reason to stop me from
celebrating what I do.

And the commercialism isn't going to go away. It's kinda stupid how much they do it, but it doesnt really bother me.

Now just fix the buggery text box for FF 1.5 and I'll be happy.

Why change the Santa Snark? Santa isn't Christian anyway, Saint Nick is, but not Santa, sure it's related, but I mean if you're going to add all those religious ones, where's the Snark on a cross?

I've unfortunately had to block teh sn4rks on Firefox on FC3, because
they were really jerky and it felt like Doom 3 at full detail on a
Voodoo card.

If you want to do the same I suggest

1)getting Adblock

2)adding a block rule for http://www.snarkpit.net/scripts/snow.js

There must be a simpler way, but I already had adblock, so... meh.

But, why do WE have to worry about offending people with the religion that the majority of our people practice. Nobody tries to take Judaeism out of Israel. And nobody gets offended when Arabia celebrates Islamic holidays. I think that instead of changing all of our national traditions to save a few ppl from being "offended" we need to let them practice the "tolerance" that they so adamantly preach and start tolerating OUR holidays. they can celebrate thiers freely, why can't Christians say Christ anymore?

Why? I'm not offended if you talk about the Crusades and how stupid it was for the white Christians to do what they did. People get "offended" a little too easily nowadays. I have a freedom of speech, abd I'll say whatever I feel like saying. you need to be more tolerant of my sense of humor that differs from yours.

But you should recognize that your beliefs aren't the only ones. Why is that overlooked? Religious freedom, wow, there's a thought.
There's a difference between REAL Christmas, which is ONE DAY, and the "christmas" of wal-mart. Wal-mart starts thier christmas stuff in september. it's ridiculous, I know. Christians hate the the comercialization of Christmas. They don't beleive in santa or the fertility rituals of Christmas trees. You can't blame (and punish!) a religion for the commercialization of thier holidays.

It is the same as the Sheep farming industry doing MASSIVE advertising for people to buy thier Eid lambs and starting in september. Yeah, it'd get annoying, but it would not be ISLAM'S fault.

Same as the spammers who send out ads for Viagra. It's not the Viagra company's fault that we are sick of hearing about thier product, it's the spammer.

The commercialization of Christmas is like Spam. Yes, we're all sick of it. but you need to hate the spammer, not the product that they are unlicenced to sell.

Why? I'm not offended if you talk about the Crusades and how stupid it
was for the white Christians to do what they did. People get "offended"
a little too easily nowadays. I have a freedom of speech, abd I'll say
whatever I feel like saying. you need to be more <i style="color: white;">tolerant</i> of my sense of humor that differs from yours.
I just wrote up a long response but lost it do to a connection timed out error. Balls.

Anyway -- the gist of what I was trying to say is that I'd think that as a part of a community based on some degree of mutual respect, you would be willing to respect the someone else's feelings. Whether or not you think he's right in being offended, the fact remains that he was... and what you're saying is kind of like a big I don't care how you feel. Which, I don't know, maybe that is what you wanted to say?

Personally I feel like people are too PC sometimes, but perpetuating a racist stereotype doesn't do any good. It's one thing if my friends make me the butt of their Chinese jokes (they know I can take their s**t and give it back to them) but if I was offended, they'd cut it out.

Morphine- sorry you lost your long response. I hate when that happens.

I see what you mean, and I knew that when I typed it. There was no way for me to properly express what I wanted to say with only text and some little smileys. So let me elaborate:

let me preface by saying that I like Crono. I think he's a good guy. But, he is VERY leftist and that doesn't mix with my place on the political spectrum because I am pretty conservative, especially for someone our age. So naturally, we disagree on mostly everything. I like that Crono and I can present arguments without ppl getting pissed off and calling eachother a "n00b" or somesuch.

Next, let me say that I don't really don't think that what I said WAS perpetuating a racial stereotype. First of all not everyone who celebrates Ramadan is an arab. In fact the largest population of Muslims in the world is in Indonesia, where most everyone is Asian. But, realistically, there wouldn't BE a stereotype if: Arab Islam Extremists did not blow themselves up in the name of thier religion.

And yes, I agree that everyone IS way too Politically Correct. Every single thing you could possibly say, has the potential to offend someone, somewhere. What you've got to ask yourself is where your freedom of speech stops and thier right to not be offended (which isnt really a right anyway) begins. I mean, seriously...

Everyone is preaching TOLERANCE as well. But I don't see a lot of tolerance for people like me: White Anglo-Saxon Protestant Conservatives. Every other type of person has a gosh darn "coalition" to back them up and to make sure that they don't get their little feelings hurt. Try being a Christian in a country where everyone is trying to erase all traces of your religion. You can't say that they are pushing for separation of church and state, because the classrooms have Ramadan and Channukah and now they even have a "Christmas Witch"!!!!!! (La Bufana) The only thing that is conspicuously absent is Christianity. Every OTHER religion and group gets "tolerated" in schools and government, but NO! not Christianity. They are changing everything to that "seasons greetings" and "happy holidays," too. What the heck happened to just saying "Christmas?" It's not JUST a holiday for christians. It's a NATIONAL holiday.

Crono, I'm sorry you got offended. But, realistically, if you get mad because some guy on the internet made fun of a sect that makes up a very small portion of the religion that your father happens to be because they do stupid stuff, then you've got too much time on your hands to think about what's on the forum.

I was not making fun of YOU, unless you have ever suicide-bombed anything. If you have, accept my apologies.
I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.
