Just saw "The 40 Year Old Virgin" I'ts quite hilarious movie. I can relate to the guy in a lot of ways. Except for not being 40 and all. If you haven't seen it you got to watch it. I lughed my ass off at several parts.
P.S. Can't see words still.

Narnia was an alright movie, there were some good parts and some boring parts. It did have some good music though, which I, erh, "obtained".

I just watched "Last Action Hero" again.
If you've never seen it because people told you it was retarded. Don't listen. It's awesome, see it now.

Just finished watching the original Night of the Living Dead. At first I was laughing at the zombies and getting angered by the stupid woman who does nothing while the black guy basically does everything and is one of the most resourceful intelligent people I've ever seen in a zombie movie. But near halfway through the film you start getting into it and wondering if the characters will suvive. It has a pretty disturbing ending for an older film
SPOILER\ Near the end the movie tricks you into being glad that the black guy who was doing the most work in the movie is going to survive because of the people coming that are cleansing the land of zombies. You end up feeling like if zombies ever bust out you can be resourceful and actually survive, but then the makers of the film crap on your sense of security by having the people who are getting rid of the zombies shoot and kill the black guy from afar, mistaking him for a zombie. /SPOILER
Reckless disregard for childrens well being, women and nothing but utter contempt for other cultures.

The only reason why anyone would say that is because it introduced the idea of Human drama as the catalyst for the plot, not zombies, and Romero came up with the, almost ingenous, idea to make the zombies eat flesh and just roam devouring things. His main goal was the social impact and human drama regarding these events, if the scenario was changed, the characters SHOULD be just as real, the zombies technically aren't needed.
However, Romero couldn't direct his way out of a wet paper bag. He seriously is a terrible film maker. He has some good ideas ... but the execution is beyond pathetic. I'm very happy that all his "dead" movies are being remade (there actually is already a remake of night of the living dead from the 80s ... it's awesome, I hear)
But, Night of the Living Dead, is the only movie he's made that actually has merrit. Try watching Dawn of the Dead (original), it's God-awful. They just get worse too. Day of the Dead introduces the idea that zombies can regain intelligence ... lame. And Land of the Dead ... oh ... Land of the Dead is just ... yeah ... I wouldn't accept the movie if Romero handed me a signed copy. (Well, maybe I would, but then I'd sell it or something)
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Silent Hill owns your soul.
If you're even remotely interesting in see the film adaptation by Christopher Gans ... do it now.
If you're a fan of the game ... you will LOVE this movie. The film is almost to the T for the first 20 minutes to the first game ... even the camera movement when walking down the alley ... the f**king barrels .... the shape of the fence ... EVERYTHING. It's amazing, the detail in insane.
The movie becomes very plot driven and loses focus from the "OH MY GOD!!" aspect. But, still retains a higher level of meaning. There are many un answered questions at the end of the movie ... but if you're smart, you'll figure it out. Discuss it with friends. There's more content there than meets the eye.
Such a beautiful, yet grotesque movie. A perfect adaptation, however. This is hands down the best game to film feature to date. You can see Gans' love for the series, easily. That is, if you can connect the games to the movie. (As in .. you've played them ... at all)
Even a lot of the music and sounds are taken from the game (not directly, they are magnificently done)
However, most people in theater I was in were PISSED. They hated the move. As I think most people will. Because they wont understand it.
But not me. I loved it. I will see it again soon.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

i agree with crono: the whole idea of zombies becoming smart is just stupid.
i disagree with crono: original dawn of the dead kicked ass!
watched ong-bak. have to say that it is one of the most amazing films i have ever seen. stunts are amazing, fights are unbelievable, plot was decent (not as deep and complex as i usually like but still was enjoyable if you are not in the mood for an indepth plot). concluding, i think this was one of my favorite movies

Saw Silent Hill last night, awesome movie. Nice CG too. Definatly not something that will appeal to the general public but anyone with an eye for art will appreciate it. The set design and camera angles were all something I believe more people should come to appreciate in a movie like this. Not too mention the musical score was great. Loved the ending too. Some of the dialogue was a little pointless but you can kinda of expect something like that when it's based on a game made in Japan.

That wasn't the goal of the movie. Saving Private Ryan is one of the only humanizing WW2 movies. It's about the people more than the war. I think, the opening is just something to really grab your attention. In watching the movie a couple months ago (for the first time since I orignally saw it) in that sense, the movie really holds up well. The final sequence is far more brutal if you actually humanize the characters. At least, that's how I saw it. It isn't all that factual, or fact filled, but it's really just about this platoon and the general state of moral during this humongous war. Also, even historically, D-Day was the turning point of the war. Things weren't going great up to that point, everyone was dying, etc etc. So, I think, actually, that is something the movie reflects. It's really evidant in the scene where they're going through the dog tags (like a bunch of pricks) and the other platoons come marching up beside them. Realizing just how many friends and soldiers have been slaughtered ...
It's a real symbolic type of thing. The movie, however, holds no weight if you care nothing for the characters.

Watched Doctor Doolittle 3 yesterday. Was funny. Not as funny as Eddie Murphy's versions, but good on its own merits.
Watched Aeon Flux just a bit ago. Was obscenely predictable in its plot, but overall the movie had enough merit to be worth watching. 4 stars.

Yo, Dudes...
Since I am locaded in Germany I am very late with the movies. Nevertheless 2 Things:
Wolf Creek is not worth it. Lots of stupid fearfull over reaction. Painfull and very senseless screaming und very poor deaths.
The movie is basically about a older guy who likes to torture and kill other people especially women.
Hostel is very worth it. Lots of gross killing going on. Lots of terror and pain portraied. And if you like it. Naked and beautiful (I assume) women.
Tarantino strikes again.
The movie is basically about a younger man who "misplaces" his 2 friends around a hostel somwhere in eastern europe. But the hostel is more than it appears...
Never try to be perfect - just try it and make the best out of it

I don't know, the fact that the fins didn't speak finnish in a small
role of a fictional movie didn't bother me at all, strangely.

Just finished watching Scary Movie 4, and I want the 2 hours I pissed
away watching this cinematic cataclysm back. The first in the series
was pretty good, the second was acceptable, the third bored me to
tears, and the fourth is even worse than the third. Most of the jokes
are tired examples of toilet humor. I'm not the kind of guy to be
offended by trashy jokes, but I didn't even crack a grin at all during
the entire movie. And I almost threw a chair at the screen when the
movie decided to dive head-first into a wall by showing us the deer
scene for the 100th time. The scene was so brilliant we just had to
bask in it's greatness again and again . Bah.

Never planned on seeing it period. They should have made Angels and Demons instead. Better book by all means.
I saw Munich the other night and I really don't know what to think. It's not terribly good and it's not bad ... it doesn't really say someone was right or wrong (although the movie blatantly favored Jews ... wonder why *cough*Speilberg'sJewish*cough*) There's things I didn't like, because there's skewed angles such as when the team tries to stop the bomb because the little girl would be killed ... bulls**t. Israel murders Arab little girls every day.
I had some problems with the movie outside of the issues just because the damn thing has no f**king pace at all. It's like ... "We have to kill those Arabs because we're Jewish and they hate us because we slaughtered them and took one of their countries" and then it teeters out when the collected team starts assassinating people. About the point where it begins to focus on Bana's character the film really starts to drag, which is actually quite unusual for the big S. Plus disappointing because Eric Bana is an amazing actor.
The fact that by the end of the film you're more skeptical of Israel than the Arab terrorists is another odd factor. It's very strange how the movie keeps switching sides.
I think my favorite character was Papa, played by Michael Lonsdale. But I enjoyed Daniel Craig, mostly because, in this movie he is so close to Bond it's freaky and because of it I'm actually looking forward to Casino Royale
The violent scenes are incredibly graphic in violence. When people get shot in this movie ... they look like they actually got shot. I'm not sure what they did to achieve that, but some of the people being shot is just sickening, which I'm sure was the goal. In that sense: bravo. (Several focused shots of AK rounds pumping through Israelis)
By the way there may or may not be spoilers in the above post. Deal with it.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I liked Munich a lot. Some of the things you complained about were what mae the movie good. I don't think it favors jews as much as what your saying it does.
I agree about the shooting scenes. When someone is shot or blown up it looks incredibly real. Something that wouldn't bother me at all but this movie managed to pull it off really well.

I thought Da Vinci Code was fairly decent, I could kinda see why the critics slated it but it certainly wasnt as bad as they made it out to be imo.

I saw a thing on TV yesterday about "the da Vinci Code". It seemed funny to me that most of the arguments against it's authenticity were based on the current bible being accurate. I'm not saying the da Vinci code is true, I actually don't care all too much, I'm just noting that the current version of the bible was manipulated in it's translation to control the people, but people still believe it like it's the word of God. It's the word of royalty trying to make the servitude of their people ingrained in their beliefs.
I also saw a documentary hosted by Charlton Heston about how it's quite possible humans have been around a LOT longer than we think, and Atlantis was on Antarctica. There are fairly accurate maps of the Antarctic coastline dated several hundred years before man supposedly discovered a way to measure longitude. It also talked about fossil human remains found alongside dinosaur remains, plesiasaurs (sp?) living in our oceans (like Nessie!), fossillized Humanoid tracks found alongside dinosaur tracks in the same rock, verified to be indentations in the rock and not carved there, then stuff about the parallels 12,000 years ago between Egyptians and South Americans. And the final thing was how it's possible the entire Earth's crust just rotated around on the mantle when it got too far off balance due to polar ice, sending the then-temperate Antarctica to the south pole. That's also apparently how those wooly mammoths found frozen in Siberia got frozen so quickly.
After that I watched a documentary on Nikola Tesla and how he single-handedly developed most of the technological basis for our society.

I thought the Da Vinci Code was quite good, though not great.
I've recently watched Cannibal Holocaust, it's quite a good movie for
what it is, and it's cult status reflects this. It's moral message can
definately be seen from what Deadato set out to do.
Some other films that i've seen recently that I would reccomend:
Natural Born Killers, La Haine, Thelma and Louise and X Men (1st one!).
