Ok, first of all, please don't get all bent out of shape over this site, as I mean no offense by it. Take it as a joke and nothing more.

So, there's this site my friend told me about today: http://www.alllooksame.com/

The premise is that they show you 18 pictures and you have to select if the person in each picture Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. You have to fill out some info like your name (you can make this up) country, age, and sex. Email is optional.

The test takes like 30 seconds (more if you can't make up your mind).

I scored a 9/18, which was 2 above the average score. I'm going to attribute this to lucky guesses and maybe because I'm half Chinese.

My Chinese roommate, I assumed, would do much better than I, considering he's spent his entire life in China and at least would be able to recognize all the Chinese people that popped up. Well guess what. He scored 2/18.

I was shocked. The result was completely counter-intuitive.

Oh man. I got 4/18 too. :sad:

I blame the pictures. Some of them were winking, wearing glasses, smiling, frowning - the facial structure is different and throws me off. :wink:

I got 7/18.

But the pics they chose are so completely ambiguous! I pride myself on being able to tell people's origins by thier features. I can tell asians and even white ppl many times. There are certain features that are specific to certain areas and it's easy to tell them most times.

That's one angry, unemployed German here.

Come to think of it, that site might just have been deliberately
designed to show ambigous pictures in order to underline that all
