ok! i dont know if theres already a thread for this, but i think that it should be a part of every forum..
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">The Vent
<span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span></span></span></span></span></span><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span></span></span>
Well then, the vent is basically a place for you to let out all your
anger in the form of e-rage. For those of you who dont know e-rage is
basically ranting / yelling / typing in all caps / being extremely
pissed about something or other and expressing it in the way of type.
It can be about anything..Mapping, stubbing your toe on your desk,
trying to program the VCR while spilling piping hot gravy all over
myself (yay for family guy), or even just as simple as losing a ssmall
sheet of paper that had a small drawing of four happy penises waving
their arms and whistling whilst walking across the street like The
Beatles album cover. Either way i feel that E-raging is completely
necessary at one point or another. and since the sun is rising at my
place of residence.. Ill leave you all to your business. I hope that
you enjoy the thread!<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span>

Ill start it out just incase some of you arent exactly clear on exactly what The Vent is for..
I hate it when my PS2 and PS1 memory cards get fried in a power spike
that was supposed to be protected by a "surge protector". which in turn
deleted my 100% completion files on FF5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. and my
100% completion files for MGS 2 sons of liberty, and MGS 4 Snake eater.

I agree. Let's call it Therapeutical Flaming and Ranting instead :heee: .
Something that has always pissed the hell out me. The fact that if you
use the vertex manipulation tool to create an irregular yet fairly
basic shape you obtain an invalid solid structure error yet if you
create the exact same shape using another method, like carving,
everything works fine. THAT pisses me off. /foams at the mouth

Why the hell would we need one dedicated thread for this when you could post angry in every single thread on the front page?

I hate lemonade that doesn't contain any of the ingredients that would make it lemonade, such as lemons or sugar (having been replaced with artificial flavours E330, E331, and E951).
I also hate the fact that Street Fighter II the video game has an OFLC rating of "M-15" for "medium violence", while the pinball game has no OFLC rating, despite that, as one person put it, "Chun-Li's rear end is all over the place". Whatever happened to "I'd rather get hit in the head than have to see you naked"?

I don't normally get angry but I got kinda frustrated / pissed off by a few of my classmates here.
Today we had to watch a video on the "culture shock" we'll possibly experience when we get back home to America. I felt that the people in the video were being quite honest about their transitions between countries, and some of them had to undergo radical changes. One girl was talking about coming back to Boston after living in Congo. It was an extreme change, coming from a place with limited running water and no electricity and returning home to place where people don't turn off the lights when they leave a room or shut off the tap when they're brushing their teeth. Those weren't her exact words, but that was her point.
People in the classroom around me were laughing at her. I think because they found her observations on "culture shock" overdramatic, or a sign of weakness.
For 20 minutes I listened to them laugh and eventually I just got up and left.
I was angry because these kids were all thinking that they weren't going to experience culture shock, that this experience wasn't going to change the way they looked at the world, and in my opinion thats a f**king shame.
We're relatively pampered here. I have air conditioning and my own bathroom. I have maid service (yeah I do) and I basically live in a hotel and don't even have to go outside to get to class. I could eat all my meals on the first floor if I wanted to. Of course, I get out and do things and see the city and take weekend trips and generally get away from these comforts, but this has got to be the cushiest study abroad program ever. At first I was happy about this, but now I wish things were rougher on me, and the rest of the kids here.
I think that some of the kids in the program don't appreciate the fact that the people in the video weren't having the same comfortable experience. They were in Vietnam living among abject poverty. Of course they're going to be amazed and shocked when they return to America.
I'm afraid most of these kids won't bat an eye when they land in JFK in a week. I'm afraid I won't either. But goddammit at least I can appreciate how life changing study abroad can be, depending on what happens.
Some girl in the video said she was depressed when she got home. People laughed at her, probably because they thought she was mentally unsound for saying that.
I immediately thought about my friend Jamie, who spent a semester in South Africa. She cooked for her host family, slept in the same hot tin house. Put up with harassment and cat calls for being the only white girl in the all-black projects. She only told me a little but the whole experience was about as different from America as I could imagine.
When she got home she was depressed. She probably felt guilty for being so comfortable, so lucky. I don't know, I can only guess. But I felt bad for her and I couldn't say anything about it.
I don't imagine any of us will feel that guilt when we go home. We wont feel what the video labelled 'culture shock' and we wont feel the emotions that my classmates laughed at and scorned today.
It pisses me off that no one else seemed to appreciate what we could have been experiencing if we had only been brave enough to take a few steps further out of our comfortable world.
I was originally pissed at them, but now I'm more pissed at myself for not going on a rougher trip.
I'm rambling, I lost my focus. Bah.

I just noticed Hammer displays models in the "optimized" 10-meters-away, low-poly version. That way my carefully aligned prop turned out to be round, not square and 2 times as wide, thus not fitting where I put it at all. Unfortunately I already copy pasted it everywhere and basically built the architecture around it. :wall:

I think nicke lplate ment Pvt.Scythe.
Yeah I hate cigarettes smoke too.
Not only that it's like breathing smoke from an exust pipe (I'm not joking a damaged car suddenly blew lots of smoke near me and it had nearly the same smell, only a bit mixed with gas) it also makes your breathing much heavier.
I also evoid it because I once made a quite deep research on lungs and found out many intresting things about the breathing system. With all the knowledge I acuired I can't smoke now, it just seems stupid to betray your own body for some stupid addiction. And to crown in all I don't need cigarettes in order to gain some self confidence or all these stupid things.
As for alcohole, i just don't like it. I can drink it with no problem, but I just don't like the taste. The taste of alcohole isn't very attractive and usally the other tastes aren't too noticible. Plus I really hate the fealing after drinking alcohole. Instead of refreshing and moistning my troat, which is the main reason I drink, it only makes it drier.

I smoked for about a month in 7th grade because I thought it made me look cool. It was peer pressure, all of my close friends did it. Then we got bored and realized it wasn't worth all the sneaking around, and it wasn't as cool as we had thought.
I'd say....most people start smoking because of some sort of peer pressure. I mean honestly, who wakes up and just says to themselves "You know what, today I'd like to go out and buy a couple of those nifty cancer sticks! I had no desire to smoke before, but today, for no reason whatsoever, I just gotta spend 5 bucks on something that, given enough time, will kill me."

i hung out with some guys that smoked cigars and tried one, but they never asked me if i wanted to try it or pressured me into it or anything, i really did one night say hey mind if i try some of that, after that it was for the buzz
now it's for the flavor

Well, in my mind peer pressure doesn't have to be as overt as a bunch of friends hasslin' you to do something you don't want. It can just be the fact that you see all your friends doing one thing... and then before you know it you're doing the same thing.

I started smoking after these guys rolled tobacco into the pot and stuffed it into a cigar, and after a few of those you start getting cravings. Next thing you know I was smoking for a year and a half, just decided to quite a month ago. Now I'm into cigars. Taste like happy.

I smoked almost a pack-a-day for 6 months, then came back to atanta and dropped it cold turky with no "withdral".
as for venting, I hate people who say they hate emo. I mean I hate emo, but its not a freaking thing, its a buzz word, give it up its like punk and goth there are "emo" people and punks and goths but every one of them has their own definition for their "sub culture." No you know what it is? Identity, this generation has no identity and thats what every person on earth is trying to find. MTV markets it, as if your personal identity were a product, you can't by it at a store, you cant figure it out from a book, you can't get it from wearing a shirt with some dead communist revolutionary on it.
You know why people HATE emo? Because MTV (when I say MTV I mean "media") makes you buy into an identity and then to keep you there they make it seem like YOUR precious identity, that you bought in a hot topic or American Eagle, is under attack. Punks and Goths fight, why? Because that how MTV makes it happen. If you arn't pressured to pick a side you might find your own FREE identity, you might relize that EVERYONE doesn't care what you wear, NO ONE CARES. We are made to think we should care, and thus we do because we are told we should.
So what if fall out boy sucks and some kid with buddy holly glasses loves it. Is there not enough "room" for that music? We don't need all the lables, just enjoy what you want to and don't listen to what you don't like.

my neighbor has a 4-foot tall gravity bong. i call it "The Death Star"
cause its got little indentations and crazy ass s**t thats brought out
by the smoke. mega f**ks you up.
and replying to Dr. Glass's thing above me..
Yes, people have ranted about emo before, but this is MY rant. This is
long overdue, but seeing "My Chemical Romance" poison Late Night With
Conan Obrien is the straw that broke the camel's back. This time, it's
personal.
I hate emo fags. I HATE YOU! Bunch of goddamn sorry excuses for men.
Crying is only acceptable in two different circumstances.
1: You just got hit in the jewels with a 9 iron
2: You just saw your best buddy get hit in the jewels with said club
NOT before/while/after cutting yourself ON PURPOSE!
There are only two acceptable reasons to ever cut yourself!!
1. You've accidentally swallowed a bomb/cobra/key, and need to get it out ASAP
2. You've recieved such a grievous motorcycling or axe-wound, that the
doctor passed out on sight, and you had to perform surgery yourself!
Yes I've done these! Yes I'm a manly man!
Aww, some girl broke your heart?
Your parents yelled at you?
Some big guys were picking on you, then kicked sand in your face?
You stubbed your fricking toe!? Tough s**t!
You know what works better than sitting at home and cutting yourself as
you cry? ANYTHING! Get out there and do something, god damn it!
Toe still hurts? Slam your hand in the door, you won't feel it anymore.
Parents yelled at you? Yell at them! If that doesn't work, suckersmack
one of 'em. That'll show them who's boss! Don't go write another
f**king song about it!!!
Some big guys pick on you? Poor baby...maybe if you weren't such a
pussy, you'd be able to knock their f**king teeth out! Not a fighter?
Well if you weren't so girly, and took care of yourself so you werent a
scrawny, skeletal pussywillow, people would mistake you for someone
with a spine...already a step up from what you are now.
Some girl break your heart? Guess what!? The old mantra "nobody's been
dumped but me" is really getting played out. Another fun fact? Hearts
have been getting broken since the dawn of man! They didn't have
Something Corporate or Thursday or My Chemical Romance to kiss the
booboo away. They got out there and whooped some ass!!!
Or are you a 'lover, not a fighter?' Then get out there and get
yourself laid! Sure, its normal to be sad after a major breakup. You
know what's not normal? TO STILL BE AS DEPRESSED ABOUT IT YEARS LATER!
Go mack it to some superfly honeys. Go find someone better. I don't
care, find some new chick and f**k her on your ex's lawn! Or light her
house on fire, if that's your thing. I don't care.
And finally, the hair...the emo hair. The mussy, blocks your vision,
"carefully contrived to make it look like I don't care about how my
hair looks even though I spend hours spraying and fluffing it" emo
hair. I HATE YOUR HAIR YOU STUPID FAGGOTS!!!
if you took the time to read this ahhaha rate my profile a 5 please lol im bored as you can tell..
yeah.. I said it. I snort pixie stix, and its exactly what it looks like, no matter what the situation or the excuse, its always what it looks like..

fun fact- breathing underwater through a hose has been nicknamed hukah diving
d.g.: i must agree with you, the fact is the media's "emo" has been f**ked up in the same way as "goth" was, most of the people who claim to be emo only think they are because the listen to music, which is classified as emo by ignorants but usually isn't, and have long straightened hair and wear girls pants (that's the guys anyway)
the concept of emo as a lifestyle pisses me off, what's sad is when you hear someone tell you they're emo
