Maths A levels. (Yeah, im a rich nerd :biggrin: )
Maths Higher Grade. (Even nerdier!)
Science.
Physics A levels. (Im very rich!)
IT = Infomation Technology = Programming
Engineering, Graphics and design. (All done on PC's, in 3D. CAD I think.)

And compulsory:

English

I'm kind of striving for that in a way. I'd rather live a happy life in poverty than a miserable one in luxury.

I've been learning Buddhism and doing a lot of silent meditation, and even in just a month or two, I feel much calmer/happier as a person. More centered/in tune with myself if you will.

to be happy personally with my accomplishments, a job i enjoy, a family i love, to be fit and athletic (to an extent) when i'm 70 and as long as i can hold out after that, to be the best christian i can, a +/- 40' sailboat with which i will sail around the world after retirenment and SCUBA dive in all the sweat dive spots

-A job in the gaming industry :smile:
-The right girl that will support me, but won't be afraid to tell me when I'm wrong

Speaking as someone who has had Buddhist/Taoist/Hindu leanings at various points in his life, I warn you not regard Eastern religions with any less skepticism than you do Western ones simply because they feel exotic to you. Meditation is a universal human practice with a positive effect on temprament, but do not adopt Buddhist ceremony because it improves your mood or reduces stress. I say that not out of a dislike of Eastern religions, but because I discourage approaching them for the wrong reasons as I have.

I'm certainly not in it for any sort of 'religion' thing. What I really like about Buddhism is that it doesn't require you to believe in any God, or to think you have no control over your life. Contentment? To want more is human. I simply cannot imagine being 'happy' with my lot, without dreams or drive to move on and reach for new goals. I have so many things I want to do that I'm frustrated to be stuck with just one life. I think I need about four to get to everything. To me, happiness is found in pursuit of your goals, but I cannot describe that as "contentment". Contentment is stagnation, and death.

agreed....the more i think on it, the more i would have to say, "contentment would be a precursor to the 'downhill side' of life....after all that has been sought has been achieved...." and, to elaborate a tad, peace of mind to me is the feeling i get when i look at my kids, realize that they have done well for themselves in adulthood, live the morals we've taught them, and promote them to their kids....i sit back on occasion, look at the wife lovingly, she turns and says, "whats the s**t eating grin for you old fart?" and say to her from my heart..."we did well didnt we love?"

knowing that they are going to be allright in life....after im gone....

...........of course i'd be lying if i said there wasnt anything left to do... :smile:

Why do you need to do A levels? They are pretty much free in UK... Also maths a level isn't so much a big deal, a lot of us round here (older folk) are experienced in maths/physics/engineering etc. I've got a degree in architecture personally.

Indeed. Here doing (And getting into) maths A levels and Physics A levels (Quantium Englanglement and cool stuff) is practicle your ticket into university. And they are VERY expensive to take. And only for the top 10 maths/science students in the grade.

I am a bit past the "Goal" portion of life. However, I'd still have one. Although I am under no illusion that I made any sort of an impact on this world, I hope that I'll be remembered for something after I'm gone.

At my age, so many people have died, and yet, after the dirt settles, little is reminisced about them.

I don't want to be consigned to the wayside after my passing.

Funny, while reading through this thread, there are an amazing amount of... fantasies posted. I for one hope that you kids retain some of your child like views. My fondest wish for you is.. Somewhat alright... After all, I am healthy enough to work, and perhaps get the items I lost replaced.

I checked my ping today on the HL1 servers. (fortunately, I had a copy of it packed, I had originally 4 but found only 1)

I pinged from 35-150 throughout the servers I joined. The ping (at the time I was there) remained fixed and/or steady.
Perhaps someone will be up to a bit of fragging tonight/today?
