I discovered today that if you store a Sanford 'Magic Rub' eraser with a 'White Pearl' eraser, the white eraser will soak moisture out of the magic rub, making it worse at erasing and better at smudging. If the two erasers are left in contact with one another the magic rub will dry out, shrink, and crack where they're touching, and the other eraser will swell a bit, uselessly and irritatingly.

I have a feeling this is the case for more types or eraser than just 'White Pearl,' like generic pink erasers and probably drier varieties of gum erasers. This would be less annoying if the better eraser ate the cheap eraser, not the other way around... not that erasers are particularly expensive.

You can see towards the end of the video, there's a guy holding cheat sheets for the elephant. Still impressive, but the elephant is just copying the strokes presented, not abstracting the shape of an elephant or flower from sight: a much more intellectually demanding task.

Yeah there's a few videos of the same elephant painting the same picture on different occasions, it's a memorized routine. An amazing trick but a trick nonetheless.

The larger the animal the more brain mass is needed for upkeep like breathing and digestion. Dolphins have a higher brain-body mass ratio than elephants, though elephants are higher than 'average'. Humans, unsurprisingly, have a higher brain-body ratio than any other animal. I think, though, that humans are the only animal to take their brains for granted and thus the majority waste it watching MTV.

TBH, just copying this is intellectual enough, when a frickin' elephant is doing it. Choosing such a conveniently simple yet effective abstraction of an elephant and a decorative flower would be something even many humans would find difficult to do. I find this pretty amazing because all animal drawings I've seen so far are wild Jackson Pollock shapes, and I find it rather astonishing that an elephant can copy and recognize a picture so accurately.

If freedom isn't a good reason to kill someone's entire family, what is?

My view of the current situation is that there are a bunch of foreigners in Iraq fighting each other for control of the country, US/NATO troops and rebels from all across the middle east. If the US occupation ended tomorrow it would leave a power vacuum that probably would end up being filled by the strongest of the other foreigners, career criminals who would harass, terrorize and subjugate the Iraqi people.

However, I think it's past time to "take off the training wheels" so to speak, and start pulling our troops out of their country over the next few years. Let them run their own damn country, I don't think they need this multimillion dollar-a-day babysitter. Plus, American presence there just gives kids a reason to pick up an AK and catch a bus to Iraq to defend their homeland. I don't think that's gonna stop until all the US troops are gone.

It's a fiasco. There is nothing to be gained from any of it for anyone, unless of course you're part of the United States military industrial complex... which is gasp who started the war in the first place. Unfortunately for Iraq and any other country that gives the USA a pretense to invade, this country is controlled in large part by the despicable human beings who make their living from the development, production, and use of killing machines, and never see the battlefield.

Looks specifically at Adam, who tried hard to help me with my motion sickness issues:

I recently went in for new glasses. It seems I have a version of lazy eye. This version, instead of pulling my eye in or out, pulls my right eye slightly upward. The doctor says that it will definitely make my woozy while on the PC.

She will be making me a set of computer/reading glasses specifically for close working. Something to do with a prism in the lens. Right now, I have spent a small fortune just on the regular sets of driving and prescription sun glasses so the prism ones are on hold.

Since playing on the PC is basically on hold anyway, its no big deal, but its nice to finally know why I get so sick now.

She says I always had it but getting older has weakened the muscles necessary to pull it straight. Stupid oldness.

Anywho's, I have hopes for some puke free fragging sometime in the not so distant future.

I found this ridiculously awesome inde-game, Noitu Love 2 (Evolution backwards, it's a sequel to a freeware game). It isn't free, but there is a demo out.

http://www.konjak.org/g_noitu2.html

Here's a gameplay video

The gameplay is a lot like Guardian Heroes, an SNK game, or a Treasure title. Which means it's pretty badass.

I'm currently working on a GlovePie script for the game so some Wii controls can be added, I think it'll control really well with them.

Update:
What you need:

Bluetooth adapter
Wii Remote and Nunchuk
IR source (either the Wii sensor bar or a home made version. Candles work.)
GlovePie v.30
The Script (save it and open it in GPIE, then select RUN)

Make sure you read the comments to see how the controls work. I think they really enhance the game as the keyboard and mouse controls are rather poor.

The IR is sort of sluggish, though, try altering the coefficients (1.0 max) for some acceleration if you wish.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Thanks for the link Reaper. I was watching and doing my homework for about 35 min and then the signal suddenly cut out. I waited for a while for it to come back but it didn't. I bookmarked it and then i left. I go back around 4 or 5 hours later and just happen to catch the guy who was streaming the game talking for the first time sense the vid got cut on the IM streamer thing. Turns out that he got officially contacted by Take 2 games. LOL . He had to stop steaming and purge all content form the session. I doubt he'll be sued but it sucks to him.

What, it's now forbidden to let anyone watch you playing a game? What nonsense!

Anyway, watching the vid, I saw it's basically Vice City/GTA3 with very cool physics and probably more content. Pretty good, actually!

Watching the stream I actually considered getting a console, because it reminded me of the good old times. They just cease-and-desisted the biggest GTA4 commercial on the net.

I agree, they cut the best advertising the could hope to have. Maybe they were worried about people seeing the stream and asking how they can get the game early. Then heaps of new people learn to download games for free because of the huge desire for GTA4. The longer the vid was streaming the more money they were losing (probably not that much though).

The game looks grate and the physics look fun. The driving has definitely gotten more realistic. Whenever he would hit a curb he wouldn't ride over it like it wasn't there it would actually spin him out.
I know its unrealistic but wish the cars still exploded after being flipped.
It looks far harder to run form the cops and it looks like pedestrians can take a lot more punishment form a car before dieing.
Reality has become a commodity.
