I decided to learn how to type properly today, for no real reason except for the fact that I've been using a computer long enough that I should be able. What about the rest of you?

I do well most of the time with my typing, save for when I'm in IRC. Then things just get... bad.

I've noticed that I actually type faster and become more accurate when I don't look at the keyboard or screen ... weird. I have friends who get freaked out by it, because I'll be talking to them (face to face) and typing at the same time

i cannot seem to type with out my eyes, in spite of the fact that i know where the damned keys are

...no you don't, trust me lol. (it's not that great unless you speak loud and clear and pronunciate a certain way, unless they've come out with some tool that made you sound out words for it to synch up to).

Bridge Commander is supposed to have voice recognition but for some reason they dont tell you how to activate it. Its just listed in the features on the back of the box.

I don't touch type in the official home keys style way, but I've never had trouble typing fast enough. I agree with Crono that it seems that I type faster when I don't look at the keyboard, and especially so when I'm actually paying attention to something else at the time.

It's actually really easy to type properly if you already know where all the keys are. I'm not very fast yet though.

I use a home row base, but then it's total free-for-all. I kinda do a semi-normal bit on the outer sides of each hand, but in the middle, it all depends where my hand is as to how 'correct' I am. I also only use the right shift - never the left, unless I'm doing a keyboard shortcut. works well for me, though.

I always use the Left shift, never the right. And I kinda just hover over the keyboard and go with the flow... I hated learning that official home-row crap. I could never do that for some reason. I don't need to look at the keyboard when typing, but it helps (I go faster when I do).

I think what caused me to use the home row base despite my half-logical/half-random keypressing beyond that was my middle school typing units in the computer class - I'd get the teacher upset if I didn't do it right, but if you start your fingers out there it looks surprisingly convincing, at least to the untrained eye... aka, the teacher.

I ignored all my touch-typing lessons and did things my own way. Mainly it's the same, but I hit numbers differently and I make ample use of the backspace. Even without looking I know when I mistype and I have worked in the backspace button so well that I can type rather fast with few errors for someone with such poor posture and hand pains.

Does somebody not have very good hand eye coordination lol. Just kidding. I sort of realized I don't really 'know' where the keys are, such as if you asked me to find certain key's I'd pause for a moment and look. Its gotten to the point that I don't really know what I'm typing, but my fingers do. It's really hard to explain, but I can see the words in my head as I type them on the keyboard. Not not literally, but I can imagine them easily as if I were writing them on paper. I can get going pretty fast if I know exactly what I'm going to say.

No .... they moved out last week, worst tennent I've ever had.

Also, how can a voice be tiny? It isn't a physical entity. It's magnitude are waves which means it's measured by volume. I'm sure Tracer will come along to say the same thing I did, but with a more complex explination lol.

equivalent to making bonds with Satan.

Are you saying Death signed Satan's book of bad-grammar with blood?

But seriously, Death, you can't type very well if it's as unreadable as it is (and it is). It takes about twice as long to read your meagerly short posts as it does to write a page (10pt, single spaced lol)
