Well after playing HL on hard mode I noticed something....... The Assassins turn invisable when you fight them, And then I thought I wonder who else has noticed this, so I was going to post a simple tread, but I said, hey why not a poll.

Aye. Being honest. The first time I played HL was normal, then I played it on hard, reached the alien world, gave up, then started over again later and finished it playing on and off.

Orph; your missing out man  . Finish it one day. When I first got Half-Life, I had only had my PC for a week; so I wasnt even close to good at playing PC games. Half-Life took me one week to beat; and I beat it the morning after new years ever  (January 1st, 2002).

Soon I am going to rebeat Half-Life on all settings. Beating Half-Life on easy now would take about a day  .

i can say it slower if it will help :heee:

the answer is NO.

i have bought them all, anything HL, but i cannot play more than 30 minutes or so without incurring a serious headache... so i lose interest rapidly.

if i were to be so inclined, then OP4 would be my choice, its much better.

/me slaps Matt

Sssh, he had a run in with a perverted Head-Crab in Xen. Supposedly, he lured Orph into his cave and well...You can guess the rest.

Its ok Orph; we understand your pain.

The horrible first level when you don't have anything (no crowbar, no crosshair, just bloody nothing ... just find that damn HEV suit) makes me ill. I feel dizzy after playing that.

I never tried to beat HL easy mode, but normal and hard were simple enough - but lots of fun later with strafe and grenade jump ^.^'

I've never finished it as well, just never had enough interest in the regular game. I have it for PS2 and PC, but I bought it really for DoD essentially. I play mods for the most part, I enjoy FPS games online against real people.

Hard here. But I really dislike games and map packs where there is more than a couple of rooms at the start before you get a weapon (not necessarily HEV suit). I play the games for the action, I'd go watch a movie if I wanted to just watch stuff. I don't mind there being bits of plot integrated into the game between the action but it's boring as hell just running around featureless rooms waiting for the first monsters. Anyway, once you get past that sort of thing the game usually becomes quite fun, but the beginnings often put me off playing new games, Metal Gear Solid 2 being a huge offender.

Hard and easy, never done it on medium  completed it a thousand times on rainy days of boredom on either hard or easy - got it 3 months after initial release for 20 quid second hand!

The original owner gave up as he couldnt figure out "where to go"... it turned out he could never find the HEV suit, hahaha. He never was much of a geek anyway, his loss was my gain!

I played all the way on Normal/Medium until about halfway into the final boss battle with Nihilinth (sp?), where I just turned on cheats. Those little teleporter balls really pissed me off (yes, I know you were supposed to block them with the spikes...). Plus bouncing all the way up there was a real pain in the ass.

Yep, just noclipped up there and unloaded into his brain. Good times.

I found Xen fun. It wasn't too hard yet it was interesting and a refreshing change from the run-shoot-hit button style of the earlier parts of the game.
