ok this project is getting advanced and we are going to need some good mappers we already have 2 Fail Safe and I SiLeNt so we will need another few we are wroking on a new site layout since we changed the theme from a devilish satanic mod to a mod witch your very survival consits upon stealth and moving in the shadows with nightvision units and this mod will be a multiplayer mod mostly to maximise the half life capabilities we are not sharing me besides the fact the most of hte maps are going to be dark and gloomy but in other parts of the map there needs to be open rooms full of life such as warehouses and inside would be a office section and dark section of the office were teh lights have gone down from a power outage.

anyways if you interested in the mod and you have read my speal aim me at SwatSiLeNt

or email me a SiLeNt@usa.com

thx

Sounds like a good mod, though personally I'd wait until HL2. It will be much more suited to crawling around in the dark, and you can have completely destructible (and suitably hostile) environments. I'd join if I was anything of a mapper.

Please make it something more than "CS in the dark"

Couldn't he just start now and port it when HL2 comes out.

Also, SWAT, dude ... slow down when you're typing or something, especially when you're trying to pick up mappers.

...geez that makes it sound perverted, doesn't it?

Ok.......

Sorry for the bad grammer last post but I was in a hurry to get threw to a call on another line and I had to leave like 6 minutes after i started the post. Anyways we have a site it is temp for now untill we can get PHL to host us but we have to show a worthy and progressful mod before hand. http://www.diclan.net/if/index.html

Its there for beta after its done we will complete the graphics and then start on the php layout. As of now it would help if some graphics could be placed in but that will be a later goal. Well to get to the point we now have a modeler with 3ds max experience he can do many things, but iv also started modeling. If you can model, map, make textures for weapons and character models, or make theme songs that would sound nice with the mod theme then email me at

...Hoobastank?

Why?

I hope it is just a temp thing, and you'll take it out later...right? If you plan to put music for the mod on the website, I wouldn't have it automatically load like that.

Don't put music on a website like that in the first place. It's because of implementation like that, that I have ActiveX controls on "Ask First". Quite annoying, being forced to download and listen to music files just to browse a website.

PHP is simply a tool that will generate the HTML. For something fairly static like a mod-website, it really isn't neccesary except for a news-script or something (which you can find on Google and implement quite easily anyway).

PHP is not a way of laying out a site, so you were wrong. If you intend to recruit mod members and be a mod leader, I think accepting that sometimes people will be correcting you would be a good skill to have. I can't imagine a mod working out too well if the leader just says "I'm right, that's it". Obviously your reply to this will be 'but this is just a forum post i treta teh mod different and it is much better' - if that's the case, fine, but don't expect people to jump at the chance to work for your mod if this is your attitude.

My personal suggestion to you is to not make any more posts in this thread, then come back when you have actually finished a super amazing and popular mod, and laugh at us for missing the chance to be part of it.

Omai.. what is this nonesence.. Swat.. chief. There are somethings you must know before you start critizing others around here.

1. We all have at least 3 years mod experience and have worked on several mods before. So we know what were talkin about.

2. PHL sucks.. dont get hosted by them. They could just be the worst host the ever was to roam the earth. Get your own or HLgaming.com.

3. Your about 6 years to late. This mod is most likely to be released next summer if you work on it for HL now... And to be honest it would most likely die because the fan base for HL has somehow wondered off to the fan base of HL2. Strange? I think not. And if you had mod experience (not saying you dont) then you would know that a mod surely needs a fan base to survive and the team motivated to work on it more.

Yeah im done here... Orpheus take over

Love to all!

At least take off the Hoobastank music....it's about as far as you can get from ambient, even if it might be a temp. Not to mention the whole illegal side to it.

If I recall correctly there is a sample at the start of one of their songs about how s**t the band name is..

Also, Hoobastank suck - theyve sold out so incredibly badly from
Incubus wannabes to wuss rock. The only consistency they have is making
bad music, albeit across genres.

The thread shall remain open...

Please note the bold text in which you clearly say something about PHP.
If you think I faked this quote for some wierd reason, then feel free
to go back to page 1 and check your second post - they are identical
except for me removing the bold style.

But the real factor here is, why the hell does it matter whether you
know about PHP?! I'm so confused as to how this has become an issue

Edited..

SWATSilent:

Try listening to the replies past the argument about PHP, and stop
being so inflammatory - there is actually good advice from all sides
being given to you here, and people won't be happy if it's thrown back
in their face.

Calm down, I don't enjoy moderating and telling people off... it's just necessary sometimes.
