You can't. Buttons are more proximity sensative really -- if you have to "use" them, then the player can press a button through a wall, assuming he's close enough. Try setting the button so the player has to walk up and touch it.

If it's for single player, you could have a trigger_multiple on the side of the wall where the button is that enables the button only when the player is in it (by giving the button a master).

if this is happening then you are either making the button incorrectly, the wall is way too thin, or both. Try downloading other button prefabs to see how it is correctly done and then apply that knowledge to your current situation.

That works all over the game. Just watch the Halflife in 45 minutes vid. The guy activates the blast pit rocket from the other side of the glass

its just a thought, but you could try making the button out of 2 brushes; a one-unit thick brush in front and another world brush behind it. just take the button youve already got, clip it through the side and move the back brush to world.

If you can't solve the problem with thicker walls alone, try.....thinner buttons!
Note that the button itself can be as small as 1*1*1 units. You can then create a larger fake button around it, which provides the visible effect. Of course, this becomes slightly more complex if you want the fake button to move or to flash on/off, but it can be done.

Now you're making me blush. Or to be entirely accurate, you're making my earthly avatar blush since I am metaphysically incapable of such an action

Me thinks blue has been sent by the devil specifically to punish those of us who never had to experience an annoying younger sibling.

I'm not sure how exactly a question about button-pushing through a wall
exploded into this. Oh well, typical Snarkpit fashion, eh?
