Hmm, I couldnt fit in any place for HL2 mods :/ Maybe specify a HL2 favriote + HL1 favriote.
I would love to change the world, But they would'nt give me the source code.

There are to many mods to have only 6 choices. I also do not think you can combine OP4 and CTF.

If I had a wish, I'd have wished OP4 to have been more popular since it was by far my favorite.

I would vote Op4, but not combined with CTF.

Bit behind the times by putting down HL1 engine stuff aren't you?

HL2DM for me, primarily because the game doesn't really impose any
theme restrictions. There is something about CS/DoD/etc... that make
them only really work with realistically themed maps, which isn't
something I tend to do.

Underdog, the choice was just OP4, and was inclusive of its DM and CTF gameplay types.

HL2DM, definitely. Since it's 'plain' deathmatch it's much less
restricting than most mods. I like to play it now, too, so that's
another reason of course...

I like HL2DM over HLDM mainly because the gravity gun and the physics combat. Physics are fun to use in other ways, too.

I dont have HL2 so its HLDM for me, because you arent restricted to
making a map that leads perfectly to a bomb site or whatever. You can
map anything, and you can map it non-linear. So technicaly, you could
map you school or sumthing and the map would play fine

Oh, no, SpoolE, even DM maps don't just immediatly play fine... though
they are perhaps easier to get right than teamplay mods like CS,
there's definitely though needed for a good and fun map. I know a
really good article about it but too bad it's in German...

When I mapped, back in the days of HL, TS was my favourite mod to map
for. You could do any theme, it all fit into the mod. Damn, I wish
they'd make TS for source. :/

Then, why wasn't CTF added to anything else? Surely there are other mods that have it as well.

Still, you may have a point. I prefer Op4DM.

HLDM, because when mapping for a game like CS or DOD you find yourself
forced to make realistic things (well, if you want your map to fit in
with the mod's theme at least). DM mapping allows you to cook-up
anything you wish since realism isn't such an important factor there.

I like mapping for CS. I feel like I'm very familiar with how the
game plays and it gives me confidence to map for it (ie I won't botch
the layout like I would with a HL2DM map).

TFC was by far my fav to map for (released 10 maps for it) but I did
enjoy actually playing the game as well so it made it more
appealing. This is why I am really looking forward to FortressForever
because hopefully I can get back into it (finally got bored of TFC
after 6 years).

Looks like I am one of the very few to favor Op4. Must be another example of why it failed to capture the attention it deserved. It truly had some of the best weapons I have used in HL.

DoD was really nice to map for. Just the setting really allows your imagination to go wild, compared to previous hl related stuff, going older was really refreshing.

OP4 was a great game. I hated the DM. I didn't much like HL1 DM either. Depended on the map really. However, DM was the easiest one to just start mapping for. You could customize it for a mod later.

But, yeah. DoD.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I think building a map where everything is broken, war-torn, and in
disarray is very appealing. But then again, its kind of hard to
make the maps not blend together.

Everything just seems to be rubble...

Counter Strike Source. I don't play HL2DM much and I don't know many people in HL2DM willing to host my maps. Most probably because many other people have made better maps than I, and HL2DM people seem to have a higher expectations for maps. Plus I don't play HL2DM because it is harsh on dial up.

I usually map for CS. My maps are usually based on real-world locations, and lend themselves to CS more than deathmatch. Once I get my greasy mits on DoD:S, I'll probably migrate to that.

Lemme tell you the truth, I can't choose, both are fun to map although CS:S has more models

CS:S gets more popularity than HL2DM but I prefer to map for HL2DM because you can create a map that doesn't need a working layout, it can be a huge wasteland with spawns everywhere and CARS!

definately paroxysm. you could think up so many great objectives for the co-op team to accomplish, and the setting suited my mapping style/theme perfectly. i keep looking for a similar HL2 mod to join, but dont find it.
