First of all the MOD is for half-life1, not the source engine, not the quake engine, not the any engine. Its For half-life 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1.
Also I am asking for peoples computer stats because I'm curious, I need this information for my MOD and I want to know how my shiny new laptop compares to you guys, pc's. THATS ALL SO SEND IN YOUR PC STATS. THANKYOU.

Not that i followed this thread to well (eek), but... more information than you will ever need is in that link Crono gave you. Plus all the things everyone els said.
But sense you asked nicely.
AMD Sempron 2400 (1.67ghz) :crash:
1 gig of ram
24 bit sound blaster card
ATI x16000 (512 ram)
1440*900 rez
A good story line is important but i doubt you top HL1. Besides, the majority of people don't like good movies. They like bad movies with simple entertaining plot lines. Higher a rap star to be the lead voice over in your mod. You'll make millions.
And i don't know about u, but i definitely do not have the attention span to complete a whole mod i my own. I be surprised if i don't take a month off hear or there while i build my one little DeathMach map.

I'm just curious what you would do ... I mean ... I already have games where I go around shooting Russians. (Freedom Fighters ... oh lord, IO-I hurry up with that sequel!)
How is yours different?
I'll be honest here, if done right a Red Dawn game would be insane amounts of badass. But it depends on what you're doing.
If this helps:
AMD64 3200 CPU (Actual clock speed is around 2.2Ghz)
1GP 400 Mhz Ram
NX7900 GT 256MB
MSI board with an nForce 4 Chipset
250GB HDD Sata 3.0
8 CH SPDIF (Optic) in use with a Yamaha HTR-5930. Range: 60Hz - 20kHz (I have some speakers downstairs that cover that range, but go down to 40Hz) I believe the sound card just sends data straight through the spdif port so the receiver does most of the work.
20" 16:10 Widescreen monitor. The only resolution it supports without a disgusting effect is 1680x1050. It is also (supposedly) capable of 1080i, though, the max resolution would seem to negate that claim.
I don't think anything else in my machine matters.
It runs most everything smooth, but I've noticed a drastic decrease in performance since I built it (It's a software issue with Windows)
I'd like to upgrade a little bit. The AM2 socket stuff supports MUCH faster ram, which makes loading in Oblivion irrelevant (~20s for any map). But that stuff is still a little too expensive.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I thought there was enough of this on myspace.
Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2
Intel Pentium III Processor
1.00ghz, 512 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 Direct X 8
Half-Life 2 runs fine (nearly on full graphics) except for when things load. Same thing with Counter-strike: Source. In game I'm fine, but when a new map loads.. blah!

And I still use 27.9 GB drives. In a few years I hope to be able to sell them to the Smithsonian Institute, for no less than their weight in gold . :heee: .

Yeah, I forgot to put a lot of stuff in mine..
Yes, 1 terabyte equals 1024 gigabytes. I think they were designed for pirates.. just kidding, I'm pretty sure they're for server computers or at least I think that's where they would be used the most. As for the 1 TB RAM thing.. yeah, I'd love it. Even if you just had one of those.. it'd be awesome.

I've been working for a computer company a year ago. I built RAID-servers there with up to 12-16 hard drives - each of them got up to 500 MB.
Usually they are used as a storage solution in huge companies that need a lot of backup-space.

I'd imagine that the 1TB HDD would be between $750 and $1,500.

Ok ok, time for the truth. The truth is I have a very average PC.
1 GIG ram.
P4 3.0ghz HyperThread.
Nvidia Asus 6600EN 256ddr. PCI-E
Some very dodgy motherboard.
150gig HDD.
