512mb RAMBUS
80gb HD
64mb GeForce4 Ti 4200
Some lovely Altec speakers and a really spinkee looking black kb/speakers/monitor setup

Funny thing is, I've actually had (most of) this set up for 2 and a half years now and it still kicks ass for the most part  Going to get a lovely new Pentium 4 Prescott or something in the summer though and make sure it's futureproof for 3 years or so!

--Current--

AMD Thunderbird 1.33Ghz
512 PC2700 RAM
GeForce 2 Ti 64MB
100GB HDD
Audigy 2 ZS
4.1 Speakers (Altec Lansing AVS500)
16xDVD and a 16x10x40RW

--In Construction--

AMD AthlonXP Barton 2500+
1024 PC3200 RAM (2x512 dual channel)
Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
120GB HDD
Audigy 2 ZS
5.1 Speakers (Logitech Z-5300)
52x24x52 w/16xDVD Writer
8xDVD+-R etc. Writer

Personally I'm not a fan of alienware due to their overpricing of parts just for the brand name. Newegg is alright, but I live in Canada and NCIX.com has stores a few mins walk from my place so I buy from them and assemble myself.

Athlon XP 1900+
1 GB PC2100 DDR memory
Radeon 9800 (GF3 Ti500 previously, ending my string of one of each GeForce series - GF256, GF2Ultra, and GF3).
Dual 20" Sony/SGI monitors

My laptop is a P4 2.66 gHz, 15" screen. 512 memory, pretty nice ATI mobile card - still runs UT2K3 silky-smooth maxed out at 1024x768... not bad for a mobile system!

Old systems include a Thunderbird 1.33, Athlon 800, K6-3 450, K6-2 400, and an 800mHz Sony Vaio laptop.

My system is marked for upgrade after I finish paying for that silly "engagement ring" thing and get a decent income built up.

For my main PC-

AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (basically a 1533 mHZ CPU)
256 megs of PC 133 RAM
Gainward GeForce 4 TI 4400
Soundblaster LIVE! 5.1
80 Gig HD

For the one that A_S posted the pics for-

AMD Thunderbird 950 mHZ
256 megs DDR PC-2600 RAM (I think... don;t quote me- that box is 300 miles away ATM)
ATI Radeon 7500 ALL-IN-WONDER vid card
40 Gig HD

Some Micro-ATX form mobo. Can't remember the model right now...

All housed in a lovely homemade pressed birchwood and low-gauge plexi-glass.

For my Linux b0x0r (it's back running again, in case you're wondering), go to that link. Thats right, I'm directing you to go backwards in the reading to go to the link. That's because I'm innovative. And lazy. Leave me alone.

I've got some other random mutant PC things laying around my house, but those are mostly just projects that went too far (the CD player, a really ghetto flashlight (made with a PSU, a light blub (a full one, this time) and way more electrical tape than I'm comfortable with) etc.)

honestly, it's still a reliable computer- just not good for new games.

a lot of you guys really need to upgrade your ram, especially if you are mappers. it's probably the cheapest way to improve overall performance on those old computers, and vital for compiling maps.

I've found that it's all in the drivers you're using, just a few tweaks or slightly different settings can alter your experience from 15fps to 100+.

OK, now I'll explain.

Intellecta MITE is a little box thingy that plugs in thru your parallel port. You can then connect stuff eg. electric motors to it. Theres some software for it, where you design an electrical circuit and it then simulates the operation of the circuit, outputting it to the MITE. Sorta like the lego thing you could connect to your puter, but older.

The Coolest Monitor EVER!!! OMG!!!

This monitor is cool. Not because of image quality, screen size or anything like that. But, it gives me bragging rights.

The monitor is: a 14" Wang monitor.

So, I can tell ppl ive got a 14" wang! It also leads to some interesting conversations on MSN:

"Oh so your monitor's died? Why dont you come to my place and fiddle with my wang, see if that works?" :wtf:

"I used to play with my wang, but not anymore. Now my sister does." :kitty:

etc. etc. :heee:

And btw. Orph...hold SHIFT when you go to a new line and it'll not do a 'double' on you

Orph - if you have javascript posting enabled, enter adds two new lines, if not, it only adds one (I think).
dunno
about
java
enable
but
the
shift
key
trick
seems
to
work

but it sure seems like a lot of effort, why not have it so if you want a gap you must hold the shift key? surely that would make more sense?

thanx guys

Why not make it so if you want a gap, you hit enter twice like in any other normal text box? Thankfully, I don't use the Java posting. hehe

Whee! Spacing!

Got a laptop from a friend he says it's pretty cool, mumbled something about a back of a lorry or something but I didn't hear properly...

2Ghz
496 Ram
Cd Writer.
NO Graphics card I know off but I don't really play games that would need one.

Oh, and it's also a Gulf War 2 Veteran, so if the specs don't earn your respect, then that should!

My other machine is comparable to a hamster in a wheel/dynamo. In fact I think I just heard it squeak...
