Running Scared, good movie, lots of action. Had one scene where I got so into the movie I screamed hysterically at one of the characters what to do, lol.

Watched Casino Royal. A very unBond movie if ever there was one.

It did have an interesting plot. I hesitate to incite the retard from Wichita but the towers theory in this Bond movie was much more believable than any postulated so far.

I still think its a work of fiction but as far as conspiracy theories go, this one tops my list of "Close, but no cigar"

All in all, a good Bond rendition, even if its a bit mushy and love lorn.

Does anyone know of any good Japanese non-anime movies? I have the Battle Royal movies on my list to watch, as well as the DOA series (not based on the game). I have seen the The Ring series, One Missed Call series (first movie was cool, second was ok, third one was crap), Suicide Club (bizzare and unsettling, but good), Versus (cool flick with lots of blood) and probably others that I can't remember.

The genre doesn't matter, I want everything; drama, action, horror etc.

Any suggestions?

No suggestions, but Versus rocks

Watched Sin City for the first time a couple days ago, thoroughly enjoyed it. Some parts were pretty predictable, but it was cool so that's okay.

If you dig Lock Stock, you'll love Snatch. So watch it if you haven't. It's also by Guy Ritchie and is remarkably similar, and equally awesome.

I've been watching the new Battlestar Gallactica series online for the past few weeks. I'm really liking it, and not just because of the CGI effects. (Besides, the resolution of the online episodes is piss-poor.)

I agree concerning Heroes Orph, and if Nickel was here I think you guys would have actually found something to agree about  , he loves heroes and lost

I am currently becoming angry with Heroes because of their teasers and long periods of time lacking episodes, also on the top of my list is scrubs

I love Scrubs, BSG and Lost. I always find ways to ... ermm... "import" the newest episodes.

Threshold, never heard of that one. IMDB has "Geek" in the keywords for it, so it might appeal to sci-fi people (like me).

Watched Yesterday:

Happy Feet. A political/conservations/informational movie if ever there was one but, was a good movie none the less. I'd really like to have the sound track. (hint, hint)

Open Season. Laughed my ass off. Had all sorts of subliminal sexual humor mixed in with the normal laughs.

I love lost as well. Season 1 was the best one I think, season 2 good but not great, and season 3 is somewhere in between.

Prison Break is also great, but I feel like it's starting to run out in the sand. Hope they turn it around in season 3.

Lost, Jericho, Heroes, Prison Break, 24, Rome. TV is good these days.

I'm looking forward to the 3rd season of Prison Break - the 2nd ended in a way I didn't expect (at least, not until half way through the last episode) and it should lead to the 3rd playing out quite differently.

I watched the entire run of Lexx over the past few weeks. A crazy sci-fi/horror/comedy series, with the main cast being a 6,000 year old indestructible dead assassin, a psychotic horny robot head, a chick who's had her body transformed into a love slaves, and the cowardly captain of a giant insect space ship; the Lexx, who's as much a part of the show as the people.

Lots of good sci-fi, some not so convincing horror, but with a line-up like that, plenty of laughs.

Lots of excellent gothic sci-fi backdrops and scenery too.

Why would you even want to know? It would just spoil the series for you. Wait for it to come up in the show, it will be much more satisfying  Besides, I don't think it's even come up yet, although I'm a few episodes behind the latest.

Lexx went on for 4 seasons. The first was a series of films, with only 5 made, but seasons 2-4 had an average of 20 episodes, at 45 mins each. That's why it took me a few weeks to watch it all. :sailor:

On the discovery channel there is a mini series called "Planet Earth". Watching it makes me with I had HD TV (everything was filmed with HD cameras). Its a nature program, but so much more. I recommend it if you'd like to see the planet's other "worlds".

Grindhouse is worth a viewing (at the least).
Death Proof has some of the most intense car chase action I've ever seen.
Planet Terror is just ... Wow. Awesome.

The fake trailers just add to the mix. My favorites were "The Machete" and "Werewolf Women of the SS".
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Children of Men:
One of the best movies I've seen in a long long time, I really seemed like there was a world beyond the characters, that they were just a small part of. The continuous shots were done very well, the one near then end damn near blew my mind. The story does an excellent job of conveying 'you don't know what you've got till you lose it'. This movie is also among the few to have visual effects that are truly 'special', the first time I watched it the effects never drew any attention as being out of place or over the top, they were gritty, brutal, ugly and beautiful. I couldn't really find anything wrong with this film after watching it three times.

I don't see much of any similarity to Blade Runner though, don't know where the critics got that besides the fact that it's based in a dystopian future, and it's an awesome movie.
