Rammstein will have their fourth cd out in a month or so. The single 'Mein Teil' kicks ass (of course).

Yeah, Franz are pretty good. Looking forward to the new Embrace album actually (bit lighter than some of the stuff already mentioned...), as well as some good old Jimmy Eat World in October

While certainly not the type of music I normally listen to, I've
been enjoying Maroon 5, N.E.R.D. and Hot Action Cop lately. Good party
music, almost everyone seems to like them when they get put on.
In the past year I've been dabbling in a bit of female pop artists as
well, and quite enjoy a bit of Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch and
Natasha Bedingfield (though only one song - "These Words" is just
really funky).
Of course these are mostly passing phases, my favourite bands are
typically emo, ska and punk bands. Yellowcard are a band I've been
listening to loads lately, their new
album "Ocean Avenue" is an excellent mix of pop-punk and emo, with a
violinest in the band for good measure. Other really good bands I've
enjoyed lately are...
The Smooths - Quality ska, hadn't even heard of them til playing Amped 2, now they are up there amongst my favourites!
Spitalfield - Another band I heard from Amped 2 (what a soundtrack!),
Spitalfield are a great pop-punk/emo fusion, similar to Yellowcard.
Scafull King - Uber upbeat Japanese ska, who can handle big-band style
songs with ease. Pity they are impossible to get albums of in the
western world
Rx Bandits - Quality mix of rock, nu-metal and ska. Pretty much
undefinable music, which adds to their charm. Very few bands sound like
this one!
311 - Probably my all time favourite band, 311 have such an eclectic
collection of songs yet an instantly recognisable style. Hip-hop, rap,
reggae, a little ska, and of course a healthy dose of rock, all rolled
into one  Pity everyone else seems to hate them...

Probably not written by her either, which would add to the irony even
more  Dunno why I like it, its really not the sort of music I
normally enjoy, but I enjoyed it from my first listen

I wouldnt call the last two Prodigy releases "comebacks", or
unsuccessful for that matter  Fat Of The Land is an absolutely superb
album when you delve past the Firestarter/Breathe popularity
competition..
Also, "Babys Got A Temper" - that god awful song they released to taste
always outnumbered, never outgunned was scrapped along with the
rest of the material proposed for that album - all for the better as
well, the new album is meant to be good as ever
listening to at the moment?
aphex twin
autechre
boards of canada
u.n.p.o.c.
bonobo
franz ferdinand
queens of the stone age
kyuss
neutral milk hotel
outkast
radiohead
yo la tengo..
plus a whole range of other genre defying eclectic styles.. im quite
the muso as it happens :/ perhaps should do somethign worthwhile with
my life rather than working and worshipping good music
edit: force, you have good taste.. why soil it with wannabe emo-indie
whiners like the doves? ;P and the strokes! me retches
edit #2: and without sounding like a pretentious fewl, i would list my
regular listening favourites of the moment, but its not worth it cos
they uber obscure indie/uber obscure elektronika/drum n bass, or
classical

At the moment, my Chemical Brothers favo is "Out Of Control" ... or "Star Guitar" (I like the vocal parts)

Any song that has a nice smooth long (I'm sure someone will point out that I just said that) guitar solo is a good song.
One of the best song I find to listen to when I'm *cough*stoned*cough* is 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' (Either the live 7 minute version with George Harrisson and Eric Clapton, or the Jeff Healey version).
Been trying to find more songs with guitar solo's like that. The only simular solo-ed songs that I can find are Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd, and Hotel California by The Eagles.
Anybody get what I'm saying or know songs like that?

He's Dr. Dre because he admired Dr. J (Julius Erving), who's also not a doctor yet I hear no complaints about that one...

Dr J graduated from the school of hard knocks, getting a doctorate in basketball with specialization in dunks started from the free throw line. I see no problem with his credentials.

He's indeed a superb basketball player, but to people who don't like basketball, who cares? I imagine the same goes for Dre if you switch basketball with rap.
