I'd suggest changing map ratings from 1-5 to 1-10, as it will help differentiate maps and give reviewers more options. 4/5 could mean 7/10, 8/10, or 9/10 depending on different factors.

We went over this before and I think Lep was pretty set on his 1-5
thing. Presonally I think we should do 1-5 with decimals so everyone is
satisfied. The problem with such broad score ranges is who can say what
sets a 2.5 map apart from a 2.6 map.

But Lep's reviews use a 1-10 scale?
There are some times when I feel a map doesn't deserve a 5/5, but is better than a 4/5. I'd prefer to give a 4.5, but that's just a 1/10 scale. I'd say 5 is too general while 100 is too specific.

Makes sense to me I guess, so changed. Though all tutorials/maps haven't had their scores doubled to match yet, but if you click on one it'll recalculate the score and correct it on the listings.

How about incorporating the table row highlighting used in the forums / memberlist on the competition voting page? As there are a lot of identical cells its not immediately obvious which row you are on when selecting.

Perhaps a delete your post option... I keep finding (Especially in the HL editting forum) that I make a reply, and forget to do something that I can't change after I reply.
OR, if you've already discussed deleting topics as being a no, then making it so editting a reply in the HL Editting forums gives you the options to change it from a comment to a suggested answer

You used to be able to delete them within about 5 minutes of posting. It disappeared during the last forum switch I believe.

It never used to, unless you used the rich-text editor, in which case it still does.

Dunno if its my computer just being slow on the site or not, but on other sites I can load things almost instantly.

The Snarkpit does take an insane amount of time to load on some occasions, and on others it is simply inaccessible. Comes with the hosts I guess

It also seems to take a lot longer when you are compiling, but I find that not to be the case with the other forums I go to (Although they are phpBB2)

Hmm, I'd imagine that to be pure conincidence, but what do I know about webpages!
Lep, it could be nice to give users the option of marking a thread as updated after a post having been edited, unless like me you think double posts are acceptable given a substantial gap between them.

This ones a bit nuts: try changing the mode of your reply from
'comment' to 'answer' on a thread on the editing board, it closes the
drop down menu before you can decide, damn it! (This is using quick reply)

Thats a firefox/java issue afaik, matt - you cant change font colour/size/font etc - drop down lists seem to fug up big style
solutions without a fix
a) use the cursor keys + enter
b) use IE
c) use the new reply option instead of quick replies.

You could try using a non-beta version of Mozilla as well ... FireFox isn't the only browser out there besides IE.
[NOTE: I strongly suggest not using IE at the moment, there's too many people exploiting too many of its 'holes'.

Its kinda interchangable - I'll often forget which of you said what in
a thread and need to re-check before making a fool of myself and
replying to or referencing the wrong person (such as in this scenario).

How about making it so if somebody makes a post with a bitmap in the [ img] tags, it says 'jpeg it, foo', and doesn't insert the image? All that allowing bitmaps acheives is to start pointless mini-flames about how people should use the right format...

I might have discovered a little bug or something. The Basic theme for
the site doesn't seem to work, "Invalid theme selected". The theme
isn't marked with a * therefor it should be working. This is just a
small one, just thought that I could report it anyway.

mentioned before? perhaps..
in the maps section, you can no longer chose which page to go to from the front area, by design or accident, its annoying to look at a page thinking there is only one and find out there are actually many.
