Okay guys, I suggest we get ourselves some exercise in the weekend,
to check out the team level. I'm generally speaking to the guys in
Europe/Western Europe. Just gather up in #snarkpit, and as soon as we
got enough peepz in there, we leave for a server.

I probably can't participate, but meh. I had a year's worth of TFC clan match experience a long time ago (99 maybe?), and I was probably one of the best +600 ping players in OGL.

Dunno if I can make anything this weekend - got a mate's band coming up
to play a gig and they are crashing here as are some other mates, so
might be a tad busy. Will see if I can closer to the time though.

Last time I checked the weekend consists of Saturday mostly ...
I don't think I've heard anyone plan a "sleep over" for years. Usually its more like,
's**t ... its 5am ...'
'you can stay here'
'cool, night'
'night'

If you aren't in a clan for a game, just give yourself a snarkpit
prefix while playing it to drum up some publicity  I play UT and HL
mods, and whether we official play games for whatever I'm on, might as
well just put the tag.
Something like #snarkpit | ReNo or, as I believe Steam now does
something to names beginning with #, maybe it would be best to start
with another character like [#snarkpit | ReNo].

I know this first game is over now, but I've just gotten connected to broadband and would like to know which server we are playing on and at what time. That way I'll be able to join up for next time.

Sure, I'm in. I can be pretty decent at DoD, but am often frequently bad. Kinda depends on the map too I guess.

DoD All the way. AS I said earlier, my brother-in-law runs three servers for his clan (neoism) and I'm sure they would be happy to play us. The only thing is: 1. I think they might wipe the floor with us, and 2. Its a wast-coast USA server so it might not be so great for you europeans.

Definately sign me up for DOD. Since I got connected that and CS are about the only things I've played.

Well... In order for just you and me to get in a game, smith, you'd need to be on, what 18 hours ahead of me? (I'm -8 GMT) So If I'm on at a comfortable 10PM my time, you'd have to be on at 4:00 pm the following day your time. That isn't very convenient. Now I could make an accomodation and get on at midnight, which leaves you at a much more doable 6pm, but then for our friends in england to join us, they'd have to get on at 8:00AM... you see the problems? In the end I think it really depends on what server we are playing on. My brother in-law's servers are usualy pretty full form about 9pm to 2 AM my time. So if we want to play ihis clan we need to be in that window. on the other hand, if we just want an empty server to meet in, any other time would work.
Ding? do you have a list of everyone? maybe you should post it along with the TZs so we can figure somthing out.

Hey Ding, you started this thing man, don't let it die on its ass. Here's a list everyone who put down their timezones, if your not on here but wanted to play, you know what to post.
(Some of the timezones may be off by an hour for some people, but if you'd bothered to put them down then I wouldn't be doing them myself at 1am  )
GMT -8.00 - Tracer Bullet, Cassius
GMT -5.00 - Wild Card, Yak Fighter, Hydeph, G.Ballblue
GMT - Reno, Gwil
GMT +1.00 - Ding, Forceflow
GMT +10.00 - Agent Smith, 2dmin
I play on a UK dod server at about midnight and its approximately 2-3pm for them, so I don't mind staying up late occaisionally to play with you guys. We'd probably only be able to play on the weekends, what with timezones and other committments, but is worth a go.

Well, I don't know if I made it clear with my last post, but if your interested you need to put down your name AND your timezone, so we can can an idea of when to play.
And don't worry if your out of practice, I only got Broadband recently and it took me about a week of playing to untrain my bot killing habits and get back to the level I used to be at. And besides, this is all for fun anyway, nothing too serious.

Ok, I've done some rough calculations, and assuming we're going to play on the weekend, that being friday night/saturday/sunday, If the people in the US start playing at around 3pm on saturday (GMT -8.00), the people in Europe play at around 11pm on saturday (GMT), and the people in Australia play at around 9am on sunday (GMT +10.00), we should all be on at the same time.
I'm willing to get up at 9am on sunday to try this out. I don't know how this works for everyone else.

Well, if you guys still have room in this thing for me, I will join. I read back a few pages, and am confused as to if there are still people joining because of that list of 8. Or is that just for the 8v8 team, and others can join? I am confused.
Anyways, if I can join this stuff, I will post my info. Just want to make sure. I play CS, TFC, and S&I mostly.

when HL2 arrives, i could be persuaded to join a group of fraggers..
as long as, its not an obligation to frag, and its supposed to be for fun not competition.

It'd be Saturday for people in Europe and the US, but Sunday for those in Australia.
I'm not sure if those team lists are happening, you'd have to ask Ding who started this thing, I'm just trying to keep the ball rolling. I think it'd probably be whoever against whoever, I'll see what people think. Just put your name and timezone down for now if you want in.
Don't worry Orph, this thing is entirely in fun, nothing too serious, just a bunch of mates blowing the s**t out of each other in a variety of mods  .

is there really anything other than HLDM
/me wonders if anything as good as OP4 will be released for HL2..??
yes, its a reminiscing sort of question, i do not really expect an answer
personally, i feel OP4 is the best, under-rated mod created for HL.

In some ways OP4 is better then HL. But in other ways it isn't.

I'd vote for DOD or CS, either is fine by me. What we need to do is figure out which server we are playing on.
Opposing Force was a great single player game, I enjoyed it more than HL. The multiplayer was pretty good too. I think we all remember the heavy machine gun, something HL really lacked, as well as the alien zat type gun, if anyone watches StarGate they'll know what I mean.

im with Orph, HL2 really needs to churn out something of the calibre of
OP4DM/OP4CTF for its multiplayer rather than fobbing people off with
the populist counter strike series
and on the subject of OP4 weapons, the wrench rocked, as did the barnacle  classic to eat someone in DM with that thing

I don't mind which game provided I have it, any is fine by me. Chances
are I won't be there anyway so it would be unfair of me to vote.
