Actually, the focus stealing was due to something else which I've turned off for Mozilla users (and got the format boxes to work properly!)

Since usernames are unique, how about a username set of
tags that automatically makes a link to the profile of the username
contained inside? As an alternative (or an addition) you could add in
the url= style thing, with Lep or the like. I
quite often find occasion to link to user profiles and either have to
go grab the URL or simply don't bother due to the hassle. If its easy
to add, this would be a neat addition.

The map thread for "dm_rebar" by Ferret has two chapters. The beta 6
chapter says its last post was on the 10th of January by
Campaignjunkie, but in actual fact there are far more recent posts in
that chapter.

possibly 3 or maybe more times this week alone this has occurred.
i find a new map i wanna check out and say so.. something along the lines of "I'll get it later" and a bit of personal info concerning the map.
the maps just disappear. i am unsure if i am frightening them off, if they changed their minds or worse, they are just coming up MIA
1)i think that if i am upsetting them then the delete option needs removed till they grow a thicker skin.
2)if they are changing their minds after one or two days, then still the delete option needs removed.
if they are just MIA, something needs addressed in the system.
[edit] perhaps i should have checked my PM's first. apparently the map was removed by the author.. shame, it looked interesting.

Can we turn off downloads without affecting anything else? Whenever I start to play a new map on this server it has to download a file with extension .AIS or something similar..?

True it still is a problem that it is black and it is 500k. Whats leps
new system? Does he have a system now that regulates screen sizes? And
if not it might be a thing to concider. Have it where if the person
tries to submit a screen over say 120k then the site will refuse to
take it and give a link to your tut.

It may well still be WIP, but the new server rotation/IP thing in the
corner of the main page (which is cool) looks kinda awkward at the
moment. It forces the stats listed alongside if into awkward line
layouts, and there is seemingly no buffer area between sais stats and
the server info box so the text can get too close to the box and look
odd.

It would appear that after uploading a new avatar and having no problems, it doesn't change. Last time I changed my avatar it went right away.
EDIT: My avatar has now changed.

Question: The site's been loading a little slower than it used to -- why? Also, when I scroll down or up while the "topic" is loading, my entire screen blurs, text and all. It's hard to describe :/

Ballblue, I'm getting the same thing and I'm not really sure why, but suffice to say it's an IE problem with Javascript & cookies.

I hesitate even mentioning any bugs as yet, for 2 reasons.
1) our lord and savior hasn't even arrived today to notice anything amiss.
2) the things wrong are so obvious, that mentioning them makes me look like either a prude, or a shudders forum <STRIKE>whore.</STRIKE> (god i hate that word, its so degrading.)
anywho's.. i have noticed no bugs that are not blatant issues with the database needing updated. which i assume will be very simple to remedy.
i would however request that avatars be a priority. i feel naked without mine.

Whew! Welcome back to the Pit. I almost died waiting its return.
I noticed that none of the avatars are showing up in the forum, and the
page load time seems to be significantly longer than in the past.
Perhaps it's the new server?
My personal pit is not accessible anymore. I suspect others might have the same issue.
Lep, you must be overwhelmed by all the error reporting. I do
sincerely appreciate all the work you've done to migrate the Pit to a
new hosting company. Oktagone is history. Goodness gracious.

Another point that's pretty minor (not sure if it's already been posted
because I don't feel like reading back for pages and pages); the
validation link in the email when registering links to snarkpit.com,
that should probably be rectified.

aw I like the old layout better
This one is cozy and s**t, but the old one was unique and less confusing. I tried to change it on the CP but it didn't work, so I guess thats another DB issue.

My Snark Pit is the new white theme before I log in.....but AFTER I log in it loads my old theme (the main black one). So it is working awesome for me.
One thing that is NOT working awesome is the avatars. Nobodys avatar is showing up on my end. Everybodys avatar is just a red x. Even the 'restore' button to the left of this typing area has a red x.
I am using IE 6.0.29 if that helps at all...........

It seems like editing User Preferences is borked in general. Tried to
switch the time format back to minutes/hours ago, but it kept
defaulting back to 0 GMT. Plus, I think someone else above can't change
their theme either.

Preferences have been fixed, and I'll get onto images not working properly. I thought everything was working properly, but oh well!
UPDATE: the maps problem has been fixed, seems there's some problem with mySQL not liking rows called 'mod' for some reason on this server.
And pits, small problem- I'm now in Hong Kong and forgot to upload them all before I left, so sorry! If anyone wants their directory back just to use for the time being please PM me, and I'll be able to restore all your files when I'm back home in a week or so (if not sooner).

Yipee! Thanks Lep. I noticed that you just fixed the avatar error.
Now, onto the newline problem. But take your time, you deserve some rest. It's so late already (for you).
I noticed that some of the icons for the map download section are
white, and some are orange. I can't figure out the purpose for the
difference in color.

A minor detail, but in Firefox 1.0.1 (for me) on the frontpage the HLDM
Server box shifts the drop down menus so that the start about 1.5cm
above where they normally appear. Works fine everwhere else.
I'm starting to think that maybe I should be telling Mozilla all these
subtle problems, rather than asking that websites compensate for it...

when I try to post a map in the maps forum it says I can't post it
cause I can't select the level under "maps in beta" or what not. WHy
can't I select to create the topic based on my unreal level? Somethings
buggy with that.

They're running a strange version of mySQL which has caused some things that worked fine before to b0rk (especially these maps) so I'll try and stamp them out, though Ferret try posting again.
satchmo, I haven't changed any login stuff at all since last time and aren't experiencing the same problem, so methinks it's your cookie settings- try logging out to clear them, and logging in again (ticking the box underneath).

For some reason I'm currently listed twice in the "who's online"

In a couple of recent threads, people have used gigantic fonts. When a gigantic font is used on the 1st line, it gets clipped at the top by the message border. It it fixable?

Not much of a big problem, but the links to the css maps on your post on the front page are using the snarkpit.com domain.
Nice to see that you are back
