Yup, saw it finally. . . And It Was Great!!!

Those critics were wrong, it was a great fantastic movie, it just slowed down during all of the talkative scenes. But the best parts were the begining with Obi and Anakin in starfighters that resemble Tie fighters weaving in and out of destroyers and reckage... down to the end were Obi and Anakin battle it out on the lava planet... perhaps the best light battle I've seen in the series. And boy, the fight between the Chancellor and Yoda in the Senate, was the best Yoda fight scene yet. Also they manage to get the comic parts right again when you see R2 waddleing to a hiding place, while holding a com to Obi, while two droids hunt him down; all at the same time, obi wan trying to tell r2 to fixe the lifts. You just have to see it yourselves.

Although AMC Frisco didn't get the copies ready on tuesday, I still got to see it 5 hours before anyone else. I just yerned to go up to the waiting lines after the movie, just 2 hours before 12, and yell out, "Ha ha haa! I saw it 5 hours early, suckers!!" but out of fear of loosing my job, and the fact that they let the fanboys into the theaters already, I didn't do it.

Man, what a great ending to the series. Its the movie in the pre-trilogy that we've all been waiting for.
You know, I've actually got nothing to say

Haven't seen it yet, but it did get some good reviews earlier.
A.O. Scott (who is usually a complete nitpicky hard ass) from the
NYTimes said it was the best of the four movies directed by Lucas
(which includes Ep4 A New Hope). That's a big claim. Also,
he said this:
A.O. Scott: said:
"Revenge of the Sith," which had its premiere here yesterday at the Cannes International Film Festival, ranks with "The Empire Strikes Back"
(directed by Irvin Kershner in 1980) as the richest and most
challenging movie in the cycle. It comes closer than any of the other
episodes to realizing Mr. Lucas's frequently reiterated dream of
bringing the combination of vigorous spectacle and mythic resonance he
found in the films of Akira Kurosawa into American commercial cinema.

I saw it yesterday, and I think it's the best part of the new trilogy.

Positive
 • Special Effects, as usual
 • The dialogue Anakin has with Palpatine
 • Final Fight
 • Yoda Fight
 • Attack on Kashyyk (Wookie-Planet)
 • Music !
Negative

 • Some dialogues are still cheesy. Spoiler (highlight): The part where Anakin screams Nooooooo when windu is ready to strike palpatine ... come on.(End Of Spoiler)

 • The very end of the film is a bit too quickly done. They just quickly arrange everything so episode 4 follows smoothly.

Well, it's true. It's way better then A New Hope and, obviously, better then I and II.

I just saw it two hours ago.

Some say that the dialogue were intentionally made bad, to better fit into the "Saturday matinee" genre that Lucas originally envisioned.

I think that's just a lame excuse for poorly written lines.

But it's satisfying, nevertheless. Ewan McGregor was a very good Obi Wan, but Christenson was a bad choice for Anakin. It's too late to right the wrongs.

Really!? I never eat or drink during a movie. I find that very distracting. When I watch a film, I want to devote my full attention to the whole experience.

It's like eating popcorn and snacking on things when you play Half-Life 2. It's just not compatible for me. Besides, that could get you killed in game.

I cannot view a theater movie without a popcorn and a lemonade. The experience is just blah without them. shrugs

Eating requires no attention to accomplish. If it does for you Satch, I advise you to not be one of those drivers who do distracting things while operating a motor vehicle.

Yeah, watching people getting burned alive should qualify as an adult experience.

It's so dark, and it's so sad. I identify with Anakin.

I agree with this entirely... only 1 thing "spoiler:" anikin's
lines when he was in the Darh Vader outfit "is padime okay?" thats not
how darth vader speaks. Plus his "nooooo" in the end wasnt powerful
enough IMO, it could have been more dramatic."end spoiler"

Other than that I enjoyd the film, it was
nice to see many things getting tied up, like you would see ships in
the original three in "spoiler:" The Melenium Falcon!"end spoiler"

Great film, go and see it!

Holy crap, Hayden Christensen can act. And he has the nerve to be really good at it as well.

Despite the odd hiccup (almost always a crap line delivered in a wooden manner), an absolutely brilliant movie. I can't really
compare it to the original trilogy, because it feels like a very
different movie to me. Dark as f**k. The last hour or so is masterful storytelling.

I thought it would have been better if Hayden Christensen (sp?) wasn't
a s**tty actor. Every time he spoke, or was on screen, he pissed
me off. I also think that some shots should have toned down the
CG. Sure it's nice, but it just detracts from the movie sometimes.

I thought it was a great movie, but doesn't compare to 4 5 and 6 in my book.

This new one almost makes up for the first and second movies. It was
definately on par with the original trilogy and should have been how
the first two new movies should have been made, for a more adult
audience.

My biggest complaint was the extremely cheesy and annoying droid
dialogue. It was unnecessary and just made it less realistic, as its
more likey battle droids wouldn't talk unecessarily, just kill.

What were everyones favorite parts?

My favorite scene was the conversation between Palpatine and Anakin at that theatrical water show thing.
Actually, my favorite parts of the movie were whenever they were together, without the talking in the Vader suit, of course.

The main two things that piss me off about the prequels are:
A) Metichlorians, what the f**k? Seriously.
B) Yoda not training Obi-Wan. I mean, I like Qui-Gon, a lot. But, that was always kind of annoying. But, it makes sense why they had to add him.

Oh and as good as the Clone Troopers look, they should have made actual costumes for when the troopers didn't have the helmet on. It just looks bad when Temuera Morrison's head and Ewan McGregor are the only real things in the shot.

WOOOOP

I have many favorite bits, but my favorite of all is still the Yoda fight sequence. I especially like how he walks in on Palpatine and slams the guards into the wall.

My least favorite was the dialog between the bots. Battle droids have no dialog, they go forth and either destroy or are destroyed, they do not converse. :/

My most annoying moment, Yoda can levitate Mount Everest, but he cannot keep himself from falling several stories to the ground?

Forgetting everything you read in the books aren't you? The overall presence of the dark side is no longer being masked by ?the lord of the sith?, if you didn't notice, that's why Sidious looks that way not because he "hurt" during the fight between him and Windu, he was acting for Anakin's sake.

Don't you remember them talking about how Courisant just had a hideous feel to all Jedi in the books? Because that's where they start the new republic ... ringing any bells?

Also, if you remember, Palpatine tried to take over the senate before and failed. No one remembers, in that realm I mean. But they do talk about that. I guess everyone was too busy bashing the other movies to pay attention to the dialog.

The dialogue did have too many cheesy slapstick one-liners. Things like droids about to get smashed to pieces by an elevator saying "uh oh" instead of simply getting out of the way.

I saw it today and agree with the overall comments here that Episode 3 is substantially better than Episodes 1 & 2, and given time may well be seen to be on par with 4-6. Thankfully they focused less on dull political intrigue, drawn out and clumsy love scenes, explaining everything several times for those who have only got a 5 minute attention span, CG filler, etc. Not to mention much less of kiddie-pandering elements like Jar Jar Binks. It also helped that they told Hayden Christensen just to look dangerous instead of giving him too many long lines to speak. :o)

Ian McDiarmid did a sterling job as Palpatine/the Emperor too and it was good to see him get quite a lot of air time. A favourite scene of mine was seeing how his appearance changes when Mace Windu dies.

The only elements I thought Ep 3 doesn't have which Eps 4-6 did is a 'lovable rogue' character (like Han Solo - the characters in Ep3 are all deadly serious) and more banter/bickering between the characters (for instance in Star Wars there is a lot of this between Luke/Leia/Han Solo and also R2/C3PO).

I liked the movie, but am still haunted by the annoying Vadar scream at the end - that one should have hit the editing room floor.
Yeah, his "noooooooo" scream was more like he's just dribbled coffee on his shirt not that his missus has just snuffed it.

They also clarified that "she seems to have lost the will to live". After her love turned to the Dark Side and almost killed her himself, she's lost all hope.

It happens in real life. Have you heard that spouses frequently die within six months of each other? Even though the other spouse is healthy, the surviving spouse can die literally from heartache.

I find it quite odd how Anakin/Vader could predict his wifes death and
Obi being at her death, but not himself being there. Surely if you were
to be as clever as he is supposed to be you would know that taking the
path the emporer chooses will not stop it.

It is certainly the best of the new trilogy, but still is lacking when compared to the original. The main problem is still there is no decent non-jedi character. Still no Han or Lando counterpart to balance things out. Also with all the CG, the lighting really bothered me, especially in the city. It just didn't blend naturally with the characters and "real" environment.

Personally, I think, they should drop the Phantom Menace(excuse:Lucas was on his period or something...), do some merging of the Phantom remains and Attack, that would be the first movie. The merge part of Attack with Sith, that'd be the second. Finally we make a third one where Vader's in the suit just kicking ass and taking names.

Spoiler Alert: Actually one of my friends was waiting for Mace Windu to go Pulp Fiction on Palpatine's ass.

I saw it tonight, and I have to say it was the best of the last 3. But I still walked away a tad disappointed. The End started to drag, and then the rushed it to get you set for episode 4. I dont know I think Lucas lost his Mojo somewhere between episode 6 and 1.

Some of it was great and other parts were lame.. I give it a 7 outta 10.

I have to say though, seeing it gave me many apon many mapping ideas.
