watching movies with all the sounds makes it seem different. i admit, this movie is not one of my favorites, but it was enhanced with all those cool sounds

Over the last few nights i've watched The Garden State (very good!), Mimic (not bad, nice concept but a little hokey), and Mimic 2 (toilet fodder - nice continuation of the originals concept ballsed up completely).
Orph, since you know where to get all these TV progs from (i'm just starting to download Lost as i've read the reviews and it sounds brill), you wouldn't happen to know where I can get hold of season 2 of Jeremiah would you? I loved the first season but Sky One consigned it to 3.00am in the morning and never got round to the second season

"How to Draw a Rabbit" is a documentary about the life and death of Ray
Johnson. He's a performance artist with a dadaist twist.
It's an interesting film if you're into modern art and unconventional
personalities, but otherwise the general audience should skip it and
enjoy something more traditional instead.

Watched The Day After Tomorrow last night, it was pretty good when it wasn't entirely ridiculous, i.e. the climate dropping 10 degrees a second, or perhaps the helicopters freezing entirely and crashing into the ground and then the pilot opens the door... so essentially the plot's amusingly horrible and the acting's more or less decent, 'specially from 'ol Jake Gyllenhaal.

I finally watched "Van Helsing" tonight.. yeah a legit DVD people.
i have to say, i liked the new twist on the old tired dracula theme.
some of the scenes were a bit silly, but overall top notch viewing.
i'd recommend it.

Heh, we've actually got Battlestar Galactica before the US - which makes a nice change. It's OK, but has none of the original charm, they've make it all 'gritty' and 24ish, complete with 'wobbly-cam' all the time. It won't help your motion sickness mate

Had the dubious honour of watching Napolean Dynomite recently. It sucked! The bad music was the best part.

I saw White Noise last night. Don't see it unless someone else
is paying. Orph this is your que to download it if you really want to
see it.
It was damn funny at times though. Someone yelled out, "This movie
SUCKS" at one point, best damn part. I love that guy, even though I
have no idea who he is.

The trailer for White Noise was crap, so I assume the movie won't be
much better. They just seem to be trying too hard to scare me, when in
reality it comes off as over the top and ever so pretentious.

Saw The Life Aquatic over the break. Loved it. Completely dull deadpan humor with some silly and zany action mixed in... yeah. It just rocked. Willem Dafoe's best role yet (crazy emotional German dude).

Watched The Aviator tonight, overall decent flick, as somehow DiCaprio and Baldwin managed to act in a semi-savory fashion. Oh, and my pseudo-lover Kate Beckinsale kind of acted for once too, I hope that's a good sign for the future.

Like most movies that deal with the subject, the movie's treatment of eccentricity/insanity was pretty shallow and dealt with things at face value.

due to children and grand children, i have seen "Babe" multiple times.
today i watched it for the first time. the on cue scenes, and the subtle innuendo had me rolling. anywho's i highly recommend watching it. especially if you are like me and like looking for things inside movies.
Hugo Weaving did a fair dog character.. for those whom like the actor

I heard they made yet another "Peter Pan" type movie.. :/
why can't they remake something worth while like say... the Challenger disaster?
seriously though, if they are going to remake movies, they should at least wait till the current generation grows old.. it wasn't that long ago that Robin Williams made a version.

Erm. "Hook" wasn't really based on the book it was based on the Disney
cartoon movie. And "Peter Pan" was based soley on the book. In other
words it wasn't a remake.
However, I do like Hook more, just because of Dustin Hoffman.
I saw "Elektra", now before you get your panties in a bunch, you should
know it's "good". If you liked Daredevil (especially the MUCH IMPROVED
director's cut) you'll enjoy Elektra. Not to mention,
Elektra is better. Daredevil was just too "Afleked".

Back to the Future = one of the funniest sci-fi comedies in existence?
Quite possibily. That is, if you can ignore all the horrible holes in
the logistics of time that's presented to you, and just accept that
what happens, happens.

Orph, it's just the way I phrase things ... nothing more.
I watched Back to the Future 1-3 last night. 2 is still my
favorite, because it's the best one. I like 3 even less now, though.
There were some deleted scenes for all the movies, and honestly, they
all should have stayed in. They're wonderful.

Elektra wasn't bad at all, but Jennifer Garner only had 2 modes, really- stoic/annoyed, and mopey/weepy. I can tell that she can probably do more depth than that, and it was dissapointing to not see a wider array of emotions.
The main thing I didn't like about it was the abrupt mood changes- I get the story, and it wasn't as bad of a story as I thought it would be, but it still seemed very choppy.
