Please gets down on knee's turn off "download from server"
and keep the new maps cycle updates so people can get them in advance.
it was horrible with people trying to get that new map

Some admin please turn on Team deathmatch mode on some occasions... Gets a bit boring on just DM mode all the time, would be nice to see it change every 4.5 hours or something (so the timing is almost apparantly random).

Juim is uploading me some maps from his server. i will sort through and recommend which need/should/could be on the pit server.
the one i looked at just now would easily hold 16 players and it rivals anything i have seen come out of the pit.
stay tuned.

The reason I bought the server was to showcase Snarkpitters maps, Orph,
and avoid the disappointment associated building a map then have no
fooker play it. I'm happy to include and upload them for private frag
sessions, but rather not see them on an already growing public rotation.
Especially if Juim gives them server time over at the Diner!

I suggest having TDM more often since it very fun, especially on island17.
Oh, it's already been suggested. I'll get my coat, then  .

I agree with Gwil that they should be included on this website to be played. Elitism? Maybe, but what are you peons going to do about it
And no, that doesn't mean you can be a caretaker for other people's maps.

Lep, just this once.. shut up.
Gwil and I already discussed it and decided already without your input. Contrary to what you may believe, its not always needed or desired. Especially of late.
harsh? perhaps, but what are you gonna do about it?

Don't tell me to shut up on my own website. This map isn't going on the server without it being listed unless it's exceedingly good. So I'll tell you what I'm going to do about it: laugh at the hole you've just dug, since nothing has actually been decided yet despite your little attempt at flame-fanning. Mwaha ha ha.

I think TDM is great when there are alot of people, but when the server
has 6 or < then you reall run out of targets. Gwil, Knives,
and myself had fun teaming up on some guy but it was like running
around playing hide and seak with an RPG...

For those of us too lazy to go digging around in your briefcase, it
would be handy if you mentioned the names of these maps you are
suggesting. Its quite possible we already have them and therefore don't
need to download them from you after all

since this thread was side tracked, it seems to have died a bit. sad.
anywho's, does anyone have an approximate time for the weekend playtest to commence?
its Saturday, and it would be nice to set up some sort of a tradition "weekend weak maps" test or some such.
mayhap we could have a list posted of maps set to be tested too?

Um, I wouldn't be surprised if Gwil wasn't off getting drunk now, and I'm on 56k, so it's really up to Reno right now! I'm guessing that either we try to have these prearranged playtests, or just put up betas for the weekend and get the authors to start threads here and get people to comment on them...

There is now a plugin installed, the Mani admin module. Normal players
initiate map votes, check the time, time left, nextmap in the cycle
etc. Apologies for the menu styles, AMX style menus arent supported by
HL2DM
Most of the stuff is admin based nonsense, so is unimportant for the
players, but those simple commands (nextmap, votemap, timeleft etc)
should now work.
Oh, and dm_swamplight_final by Finger is on the general rotation too so download it - and vote it on if you want to play it!

with the tiny thing we have on the front page to show current rotation, what are we gonna do when we get more than 6 maps?
that tiny thing is full already. perhaps a dropdown?
i cannot imagine keeping the server to so small a list. i for one am already tired of the current rotation because of its small size.

Leperous: Please assign more
admins. I've seen less important servers having 10-15 admins, and a
server like THE snarkpit server has only 3;And I've seldom seen them
online  . Must be a timezone issue I suppose.
As I was saying, the server is often
flooded with newbies who refuse to behave (words like d*ck,
c*ck, f-*-c-k being thrown around alot) and voice spammers. One was making
masturbation sounds for the love of God! So I think I speak in the name
of all the decent users of this fine server, newbies and gods alike,
when I request that you assign some more admins from the members that
play often on the server.
Other than that, the server is doing fine. However, some reported
experiencing video-card issues on dm_rebar. It's very strange that only
this map has these issues. It seems to occur on older geforce cards.

Yeah the rebar problem is quite an issue, really makes it unplayable
for me and quite a few others. Shame, as it really is a cool map
I've never run into any trouble while I've been on the server, but I
have barely been on in the past couple of weeks. If problems have been
occuring more frequently, then I guess it might be wise to assign more
admins. I'm in IRC a lot of the time and have remote rcon control, so
if you have just come from the server and there are troublemakers,
gimme a shout and I'll look into it.

whispers to Andrei Lep doesn't run the server
Although, from now on ReNo and Leperous will be in charge. I don't feel
the need for more admins, maybe 2 more at most. It's up to these guys
and if they need more admins on the server - it's easy enough to add
new ones (see the Mani Plugin documentation for info guys).
dm_rebar will stay i'm afraid, you fiends should bite the bullet and get a decent GFX card.
If you were to appoint new admins in my absence, my first
recommendation is natus due to sheer amount of time he spends on the
server
Also, if you do see people dicking around, get screenshots,
demos and most of all their Steam ID.
I/We can't do a great deal without knowing the offenders details.

you guys.. you are available even less than i am. my primary reasons for never applying for such positions. perhaps you should consider more available members to cover the slack. being available should be the primary pre-requisite for such positions.
someplace in the fine print was a sentance you overlooked. "do you plan ahead"

Rightio, dm_hydro_b2 is up. Sorry its taken so long to make an
appearance  Its slotted in after Island17, right before overwatch. I
also changed the message of the day to reflect the new website URL, and
updated the adverts that pop up now and then. Lep, I don't seem to have
access to change the server info box at the top of the front page, so
if you could add dm_hydro_b2, or give me access to do so, that would be
good.
