Most of the people who aren't 'one login wonders' with a single mapping
question generally join the channel once in a while, and it hardly
kills to stay in the same room for a length of time. How else can we
make fun of Nickleplate's freakishly big face?

I used to stop by and hang out and I ended up getting to know one or two pitters much better.
But alas, I can't connect to IRC here at college, because of something they've done with the network.

As I said before, I'm quite literally blocked off of, specifially, Quakenet because of my ISP postfix on my IP. Pretty stupid ... I guess a lot of people are spamming through comcast.net email addresses or connections or something. (And there's no way to port that server thing in chatzilla that I can find)
I could try with FF though.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Didn't work. And the indentity server they suggest they wont respond to ... I don't think there's an easy way for me to get in unless I install a completley new IRC client ... which I'm not doing.

I'll try to sign on sometimes, but I don't really have long periods of uninterrupted time for chatting anymore.

I've been in the channel since the beginning. I miss scary_jeff, Gwil and Monqui.
Once, we spoke about bread. I miss that day.

Real time chats tend to also attract real time idiots. Trying to have an adult conversation is nearly impossible most times. Cutting loose and enjoying oneself is a good thing, but stupid is universally frowned upon and I have a fairly strict sense of what is and what is not stupid. I prefer forums. The post is usually around long enough for multiple people to read, and remembered. Especially if its stupid. People can usually run those types off. Chats, if you do not have someone willing to kick them, the chat sucks.
Anyway, I prefer forums.

Hard to tell. Mostly the IRC users split into EU and USA. In general
I'm not talking much when there is something going on. So I'd say I
wait 'till other users sign on.
And then we start to talk about stuff that is so intellectual all the other users just fall asleep.
The thing is: I just don't really talk as long there is nothing serious going on. (I have other things to do.

There is always the benefit of knowing that if the offensive member is also a Snarkpit member you can ridicule them in here.
Seriously, I was just giving you a hard time. Not all chats are bad, especially the semi-private ones.

I had a brief but nice chat with Nickleplate last night. It's quite different from the forum. The responses are a lot more spontaneous, which can be good and bad simultaneously.

True. It might be funny; but it's a hoax, too.
