Half-Life Challenge

for Half-Life 0
by tnkqwe
It's just a project with some difficult gameplay. You must use all of you weapons wisely. If you can handle the situation with the crowbar, use the crowbar. If you cant handle the situation with a crowbar, use another weapon and the crowbar.

Advises:
You can jump over some of the dogs.
You don't need to kill all of your enemies.

Changes:
Now the weapons are: crowbar, hand grenades and 357.
The grunts in the crate area have been replaced with alien grunts.
The 3 maps has been combined into one single map.

If there are still bugs, inform me.

Half-Life: Deathmatch Octavarium Ver. 4

by KD007
This is a mystical/sci-fi map consisting of a giant octahedral reactor in the middle of a giant room. In the center, is a powerful laser which must be deactivated in order to obtain the long jump module (without dying). The ambient sound is... you guessed it, Octavarium by Dream Theater... or at least the intro synth part.

4-12 Players.
CHANGELOG
Ver. 4
Large changes made.
-Added a sniper area at the top
-Added giant labyrinth underground (no longer a killbox map)
-No longer an invisible portal when you jump down (4 portals on each side instead).

Ver. 3
Added teleports. It is no longer a pain in the ass to get around the map. Also, I hope the map lags less (since I compiled it with updated tools). The very top of the map is snark-heaven. Find the secret portal to the top!

Ver. 2
Fixed button.

Ver. 1

Left 4 Dead Forage - Survival

Star map!
Forage is an open map for Left 4 Dead's survival game mode. My intentions were to provide a space that gives players options so that they may develop a defense strategy amongst themselves that fits their play style, rather than force them into one or two specific strategies or areas to defend.

The current revision is beta 6; any feedback is appreciated!

Here is a fun little Christmas map for your holiday amusement. The Ice Castle is home to crystals that produce Christmas spirit. The terrorists are bent on destroying the crystals and ruining Christmas for everyone.

Here are a few hints and tips for navigating your way around the map:
  • The dual speed track is just like the Slideracer maps. The snowmen, bombs and Santa Furby will instakill you so be careful!
  • To control the track speed, shoot the corresponding targets over the track.
  • The Castle contains speed tubes that let you quickly go up, down or side to side. Follow the arrows for the proper direction.
  • There are also arrow ramps on the roof that let you long jump from one roof to the other. Make sure you jump at the very edge or you will miss the other side. Cross jump at your own peril.
  • There are 3 bomb sites. Site A is at the Christmas tree immediately below CT spawn. Site B is on the roof at CT spawn. Site C is located on the balcony overlooking the massive power cube in the Castle opposite CT spawn.
Strategy:
Terrorists
- If you have the bomb, try not to die on the track. It is really difficult for your teammates to locate and pick up the bomb when moving at high speed.
- With three bomb sites to choose from, try to get a jump on the CTs by finding the site they’re not defending.

Counter Terrorists
- Cover all bomb sites and get to them quickly. CTs have the advantage of getting to any bomb site faster than the Ts. It is essential to have your teammates get in position quickly to defend each bomb site and signal where the bomb is going.
- Determine where the sites are located and the fastest way to get to them. Knowing the fastest way from site to site is really important!

Secret Area:
There is a secret area in the map. It is not easy to find but I’ll leave you a Jumble.
(stirred and course are NOT correct answers)

Half-Life 2: Episode Two Torment

(Made for Hl2 Ep 2)

This is my first ever creation in hammer. It's fairly short (10 minutes probably) but it took me forever to make.

It's a horror map. Don't blame me if you're scarred for life. And Enjoy!

During the Cold War II, an atlantic island is known to possess a high mortal virus. A special team of military as civilians is sent to get a sample of the virus and destroy the rest, but of member of their team got infected.

Human's Objective:
Get out of the island before the nuke arrives and prevent any further infections.

Zombie's Objective:
Infect all humans and spread the infection around the world.

Other Notes:
There is one rescue aircraft at the surface. Don't try to leave the island swimming.

This is the second version of ze_xblah_silo and no important bugs are known. If you find any, please report it to me ASAP. Hope you like the map.

It basicaly cointains 5 sections: The first one you must defend 3 elevator holes before it arrives. The second one is a warehouse, where you must climb the shelves to get to the next area. The third one is just a flooded area. In the fourth one you must defend the silo elevator before it comes down. This elevator will lead you to the fifth and final area, where you must defend the landing zone.

Half-Life 2 Zombidity

This is zombidity.

I created it all by myself and with some help from my brothers. A lot of things in this map I learned from tutorials. It is somewhat of a NOAMZ level. It has a deathcounter and a cash system.

When you kill zombies, you get 1 added to your killcounter and 1 cash. When you have enough cash, you can buy upgrades. when you play long enough, you can buy all the upgrades. The game has no end.

The map has 3 types of zombies;
zombie (normal)
poison zombie
fastzombie

Upgrades you can buy from the cash you earn include:
physics objects
a dropship with friendly combines
increased ammo carrying capacity
increased damage on weapons
a friendly turret
a friendly sniper
change gravity
unlimited flashlight/sprint

and some more.

when you would choose from the frienly combine dropship you have a choice.
1 dropship gives you friendly combine soldiers (costs 50 cash)
the second dropship gives you friendly elite soldiers (cost 100 cash)

But when the dropship has landed, and the soldiers jump out, be shure not to buy the friendly dropship again, because the existing soldiers will be replaced.

For example: you choose dropship 1 and the soldiers jump out. Then you go back and choose the dropship 1 again. The dropship lands and the ones that are already on the field disappear. you can still choose for dropship 2 (the elites).

I know it would be better if you could spawn additional combines, but I didnt change it because you could fill the level with combines and I'm trying to prevent that.

Watch out for the poison headcrabs, I died mostly because they attached me, and then a zombie attacked me. Also, be sure not to drop a bomb to close to yourself, for example, you launch a grenade with a smg1, and suddenly a fastzombie jumps up, resulting in the grenade exploding in your face.

I tried to do my best on this level and i like it. I have tested it fairly good, so you shouldnt expect a lot of errors (thats why I put it in completed maps). It is optimized, so you should expect a good fps rate. I compiled it on fast mode with the hammer compiler, it took half an hour.

If you do encounter errors, please let me know.

If you have eny questions on how I did things in this map, ask me.

Put the .bsp in your c:/programfiles/steam/steamapps/username/half life2/hl2/maps folder, and run the game. In the console, type map zombidity

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch dm_clue_v1

Not sure what to really say here...

As the title indicates, the map's based on the board game 'Clue' (known as 'Cluedo' outside of North America apparently).

For those of you who somehow have no idea what that is, here's a picture of the board: http://rm7guy.co.uk/0366.Cluedo03Board.jpg

The passageways from the board game are in the map. Click on the floor where they are to open them. The weapons from the board game are also scattered around the map, minus the rope because I couldn't make it appear how I wanted it to.

The inside of the map focuses more on run and gun gameplay while the outside focuses on gravity guns, although some stuff on the inside can be picked up with the gravity gun and there is ammo for the rocket launcher on the roof.

This is the first map I've ever released on a site like this (I've only made two playable ones before now, one of which was barely playable due to extreme amounts of lag caused by the map itself), so I'm kind of nervous about putting this on here.

I had to make a few cuts with models in the map. One reason for that was because I basically had too many placed in the map. And then I tried to get the piano from Left 4 Dead in the map, but I encountered another problem that I won't go into here, so I just made the piano out of brushes in Hammer, basing it on L4D's piano (and even using part of its texture).

The skybox is kind of bad looking, but this is my first map with any outside areas. The ground outside was originally going to be made of displacements, but lights appeared weirdly on it for some reason, so I had to cut that too.

So, yeah, this isn't the greatest map ever, but I think it could be fun on a server with at least a few players, maybe more since it's kind of big (I have no way to test that myself unfortunately). Feel free to tell me where you think weapons and items should be added/removed, etc. Have fun (hopefully...).

Thanks for all your help. :)

DOWNLOAD!!

Play Style:
Built with 3v3 in mind but shold work equally well as 1v1
The RPG is atop of a tube that constantly raises and lowers so you gotta spend some time planning when yuo're gonna access it, it also functionis as a lift (it is not a lift) to the 3 levels. When someone attempts to collect the RPG the seconds it takes allows an opposing player time to reach a vantage vai an alternative route, hopefully balancing the rpg's role during play.

Theme:
Set in what has been described as a lost colony, possibly harvesting some unknown resource

Weapons:
2x mags
3x xbow
3x shotty
2x ar2
plenty of grenades
3x orbs
3x smg nades

Health:
1 x super charger
2 x suit chargers
2 x health chargers
plenty of health kits and a few suit

Areas: The map is comprised of 3 main play areas
1. charger area
2. RPG (lift) area
3. Garden area (+ indoor botanical garden)
there is also a rather pivotal connecting setion that overlooks all 3 to some degree.
