Half-Life 2: Deathmatch dm_castle_overload2

This map evolved from [RDC]Spook's castle map for half-life 1. I remade his map and created 5castle_v3, then remade that and created castle_overload. While porting and rebuilding this map for HL2 Deathmatch, I decided to cut a lot of the areas out. The map has far less areas and secrets as compared to my half-life 1 version. I cut the fat out of the map in hopes to see the map used on more servers. Cutting out certain areas will bring the fight back out to the main open area and enable smaller servers to run the map.

Created by me (Twist) I must admit if you go outside the dome its sloppy, very sloppy..lol but I threw this together and there is NO lag and is really a kick ass map, that is great for DM at any grav setting.. I play Low grav (135) but It plays well on 600. DOWNLOAD THIS MAP FORSURE, if your just wanting to play a fun map without being critical, this is it.. besides you cant see my mess unless your in NO CLIP or editing it which like all my maps, your welcome to do.. Its all about keeping the game going..lol Have Fun.. you wont regret this one...

Half-Life: Other... Desert (for GoMod)

If you are a good mapper, fell free to modify the map. I'm good with shaping the brushes, but I'm not good at entities and optimization...

This map is based on the nnk_some_where map. I stopped working on the map for more than an year (I think). Later I wanted to make a wasteland map for HL, just for fun. I recalled that this map is not finished, so I finished it.

Issues:
Clipping errors. The triangle terrain looks Really cool, but it causes clipping problems. I tried to remove as much errors as possible (some of the fixes that I tried caused even worse problems), but there are still many. The edges of the cliffs have no clipping problems, so you won't have any problems with falling from them.

Performance: I have no idea how will it perform on weak PCs. I have a nice PC on which the compiling of the map takes only several minutes (less than 10 I think) and the map is running smooth.

Lighting: It's messed up on some surfaces. It's because of my attempts to optimize the map.

Half-Life: Deathmatch cm_duskburg

CM_duskburg is a clan-map I made for the Clepto-Maniacs clan. Basically it's a castle on a hill surrounded by rocky terrain and a village nearby. This basic theme was given to me by the clan so I had to try to make the best out of this. It was really hard to add detail and keep the r_speeds low, but I managed to make them not surpass 800 wpoly. I tried to give it as most detail as possible within these r_speed limits. I mostly used standard textures and more or less used basic construction for some parts of the village. I beta-tested the map three times and I think it's well balanced and a little campy (notice the pun?). Give it a try. I think especially the gameplay is quite nice. :-)

Sven Co-op (HL) Sweet Home City

Sweet Home City is a medium size Sven Co-Op map that plays in a city.
You start inside an advanced version of Sweet_home3 (HLDM) where you find weapons and armor. Then you have to fight your way through the streets where groups of soldiers and snipers await you. Once you reached the warehouse there are a lot of aliens to take care of. In the end there is an endboss fight ;-) Oh yeah and there are a lot of small details and gimmicks that you maybe wont see beating the map for the first time. Btw: this map was created on the basis of my counter-strike map as_intruder.

Half-Life 2 sp_balcony

This was my entry to the "DM2SP" competition (see PlanetPhillip entry). It is based on my HL2DM map "dm_balcony".

In this short rescue mission, you have to help Uriah, a Vortigaunt scientist, escape from a combine prison by guiding him to a teleporter. I had to use some entity hacks to get him to follow the player. You can command Uriah to stop or continue following you by pressing the use key on him (classic HL1 mode).

For the finale, you can use a bunch of friendly roller mines to set up a defense. Remember, the only way to destroy roller mines are explosives, to think twice before using grenades...

Counter Strike Source Offload

The setting of this map is a old railway unloading dock. The facility has been added to repeatedly over the years and it can be seen in the architecture of the structure. The CT's start off in the most modern section and make their way to the T side to rescue the hostages keep under the stairs and in the cargo container. The has a rather wide open but compact play area. If you control the second level you control the map so a good amount of your man power should be concentrate there. It should make for a fun and dynamic chok point. Watch out for grenades and have fun.

Here's something I'm toying with. Give me some feedback and if anyone thinks I should take it further, I really like the idea but am unsure as to how to make it more playable. The platforms are there just to move around the area for now.
