Congratulations! How does it feel being a father?

For a minute, I thought the stuffed turtle was the same one from
de_tides, and I thought to myself: "This kid's getting his gaming
exposure early." And then I saw the xbox controller

We'll let him practice a few years before we bother with that  I imagine he'll be up and running on the gamecube and maybe ps2 by late 2 or early 3, though  Hell, the puzzle stuff on live arcarde would be good reflex/visual acuity/coordination practices.

For the time being, I'm just posing him in awkward pictures

Congats mate.

Just in case you're unsure, and i don't mean to be over-personal, but remember that night back in, uhm, March i think it was, the night that your missus dragged you away from the computer and, well, you remember. well, that's what caused it. i know a guy that ended up with 4 of the little angels before he realised what was going on,....

i don't know you too well, Mr. KFS, but i'm pretty sure that the little guy has landed lucky with you. best wishes to all involved.

Don't forget to measure him when hes 8 years old and see if its true about 8 years being exactly half your final height

Also feed him fish and he will be brainier, and try out all those tricks and shizzle

As for cuddly toys, make him a snark- I remember someone posting the pattern for making one here, which I was going to attempt. Come to think of it I might have said I'd make one for your junior before he was born... hmmm....

Congrats and welcome to the club. May you discover early the tricks to sleeping by night and all that good stuff. One question, which of you got to change the diaper first and how did you react to the "tar poop"? (non parents probably have no idea what I just asked.)

Would you mind terribly pronouncing for us slower gents how the first name is said please. Its rather original. At least its a name I've never come across before.

Funny thing is, it takes at least 9 months to do this process correctly and it doesn't hardly seem that long ago you announced your impending fatherhood. Time sure does fly by.

(no insult intended if that sounded like I was accusing you of anything premarital sir. Just an observation of how fast time flies when you are my age)

I've changed probably over a thousand diapers already, and I don't even have any children yet.

By the way, I just saw a patient whose name is pronounced exactly the same way as "areola". How unfortunate.

I got the first few; I've actually done all but a couple save for the ones done by doctors and nurses in the hospital and at appointments. Didn't really catch me off guard; our nurses were pretty clear about what to expect and the staff did a great job of priming us for it. I certainly dealt with it better than the delivery.

He did just have his first pee during a diaper change, though, that threw me off. I'm like "what the- OH GOD!" and found myself scrambling to toss a baby wipe over it
Would you mind terribly pronouncing for us slower gents how the first name is said please. Its rather original. At least its a name I've never come across before.
glad you like it  Easiest way I find to think of it is "ryan" but adding an l in the middle (like the friend of maggie's from earlier). ryan + l = rylan, rylan + cooler spelling = reilan.

My first son did that "Magic pee" stunt a few times. He managed to stream it across the living room once, a feat of just about 12 feet or so. Kids have bladder muscles from hell.

What you need to prepare yourself for though is magic poop. Children have a way of making it appear at the most inopportune times. Mostly during sex and in movie theaters. The truly magic moment is when they do the anti-gravity poop. It comes out the top of the diaper and seems to float all the way up to their chins while in their carriers.

18 months? man time just swooped by.
